well most likely you guys already talking about this sooo many times and is going to ask me to use the search.... but just to make shure hehe will the 1jzgte or 2jzgte bolt right on to a stock 5 speed w58 tranny? and will you think its safe to do it...? i also ready its possible but with a clutch kits... and any specific kind? pm me if you can with info....

The stock 5spd tranny can't hold much power. I THINK the limit is ~300whp, but it depends on how you're going to drive it (launching with slicks or occasional spirited driving.) Either way, it's not really a good idea. Just spend the little extra cash on the 1jz turbo tranny for less headaches later down the path.

Yes they will both bolt up, but your tranny won't be very happy about it.
The W58 doesn't take very well to high hp applications, but will work fine with a stock GTE as long as you don't constantly abuse it.
I may be wrong, but I think you can use a clutch kit for the SC300, Soarer, or Supra.

Yes like everyone else said it bolts right up and there are plenty of clutch kits available. As far as handling power it can handle a decent amount of power quite fine actually. A lot of is300 5spd owners when boosting their car take off their w55 and use the w58 and it handles 450whp quite fine. I have a w58 with a centerforce dual friction clutch and its been handling my 1jz fine as a daily driver.

Overall it would be better if you did bolt a r154 to it, but those are a lot harder to come by than a w58. How much power and wat kind of setup are you looking to run in your car?

I have the same clutch and was wondering if it would be a good match for the 1jz and w58. :D I guess so.

I pushed almost 400 on mine for a few months no issues and I was driving it hard. There are a few supra na-t guys in FL pushing over 500rwhp. Just don't slap gears and watch 3rd on the highway pulls.

if you dont drive it like a dickhead. Yes it will hold up.
