Question

I don't want to be a poser, but I can't find an aftermarket front end that isn't over the end, so I am thinking of putting the newer style bumper on my 95 SC...

Does anyone know if this is a direct relacement, or would I have to do other things as well? Has anyone done this?

Or does anyone know of any aftermarket front bumpers that is gaudy(sp?)?

Thanks guys.

Its just my opinion but I find it harder to differentiate between the newer SC and other cars when viewed from straight on. I like the original better.

I have a 95 400 also and thought about changing the bumper but if you really look at the 97+ I don't think it is an improvement. You also would have to change the fog lights and I am sure the grill assembly is not cheap.

I do kinda like the newer tail lights though. hehe

Yeah, I found out that the newer front bumper would require a LOT of stuff to work, and cost a lot of money... One of the biggest reasons I wanted to is because it would allow more airflow to my FMIC than the old style bumper....

I just want something more aggressive and functional, but for my taste all the aftermarket ones are over the top.... I am trying to build a sleeper here, and I don't think it would be much of a sleeper if I put on an aftermarket front bumper....

Does anyone know of any aftermarket front bumpers that are subtle looking, and not some super aggressive look?

Actually the 97-00 parts will fit on without much need for any extra parts, you reuse quite a few without any problem.

You will need the new bumper cover, the grille assembly and the fog lights, along with a few other small trim parts. The existing inner structure pieces will work.

The major expense would be the fog light assemblies, other than those, the parts won't be over $500 and should be quite a bit less. If you bought the parts at a discount you could probably get everything for around $1000.
