Doors won't lock

Some jerk rear-ended my car and now my doors only unlock but won't lock.

The body shop couldn't fix it at the time, they ordered some new motor thing. The controls on the door don't lock the car nor does the remote key. Theres no sounds or anything either. But it does unlock...

Anyone had this happen before?

Does it lock and unlock with key or remote.

is this by remote or manually? i'm confused as well, how is it that it would unlock but not lock??? my best guess is that theres a mechanism that got messed up so it wont engage the locking state, or a something wrong electrically.

doors lock but won't lock

this same thing happend to my car, but i wasn't in an accident. When i try to lock my door (with the automatic switch from driver/passenger side) it just makes a noise which seems to be comming from under the driver side dash. Although unlocking it works fine. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

i swapped the switches with a friends who's locks were working fine... still not working. could it be the motor which locks the doors?

replace the door lock module that is under the dash near the steering column not the switch in the door. those rarely go bad.

Same thing happens to me too. Using the auto lock, it makes a noise, but doesn't lock on the driver side only, passenger locks. When I use the key to unlock from passenger door, it unlocks that door but not the driver. This happens like for a week then later its okay, then again. Now its not working at all. So you think its only the module that needs to be replaced (under the steering wheel)?

the same thing happened to me too. but it stopped working after the alarm went off and another thing, when both windows are down and i hold down on both windows down button it unlocks itself
