Am I the only one who has a funny feeling that this car may be stolen? $800 and it's in the dirt on the side of the road with a "yo!" sign on it.

I doubt it, just seem like it was a kid who skates/surf/snowboards. He was fairly honest about the car.

Buy it only if your going to strip it down to the shell and throw in a 2JZ-GTE and Sparco seats

dude... older 2jzge's are like $500 all day. You can find one with 70-80k in that price range. Take a weekend to swap. Seriously... where are you going to find one cheaper? No p/s or a/c ect is a drag but not that big of a deal. Even if you had to replace the rack thats still only another $150 or so and like 2 hours worth of work. You can get those inside door handles for like $30 each too. I thought mine was cheap... (I paid $1000) and mine was a theft recovery. Offer the guy $700.00, buy a new motor for $500.00 and you're good.

 

as a project car you really have nothing to loose.. except the price hes asking. and gas is getting expensive ....

 

go look at it and make a list of all the things that need to be fixed and see about how much it will cost and how much time it will take. see if thats something you want to do?

any info on its record? any accidents, break-ins, etc? looks like something off the impound lot, but i see potential if you have the time and $$$
