Thought I would make an update.

Today is a little over a year since I completed this out-of-boredom modification.

It is still holding up just as well without any flaws.

Every car-oriented dude I know has chuckled and said how cool the upgrade is.

So, now I have four cup holders.

I also did this to my Volvo using the same process.

I saw this was added to the DIY...so whoever did that--thanks!

LOL

We use it most on road trips.

I'm waiting to find a relatively newer Dodge with the chilled cupholders and make that work with the one by the arm rest.

Nice man. I might have to try that or use your idea some how. Last time i tried using a cup holder in my ride it failed LOL. My medium sized coke from McDonald's spilled all over me when I made a turn going at about 25 mph.

i've found the area in between where u click the seatbelt into and the lumbar sides on front seats to be a cool place to put bottles and stuff....normally never spills cause ur body angle naturally keeps it up....btw, that's a cool lil mod....

Well, total in my car is up to four cup holders.

The one that came in the center console closest to the arm rest had a lid on it. It bugged me but never latched right, so I shaved it down and used finishing putty to fill in holes, and then painted it black.

It looks stock.

My next cup holder idea is to create one that fits between the back of the center console and the back seat.

I actually was thinking the same idea too!!thinking maybe cut the two cup grooves on the glove and throw in a couple PVC pipes about 2"deep...
