i am no mechanic and feel some of the questions you asked about the car were just basic. first of all you should know if the car is in third or fourth.
anyways to help answer some of your questions, there is a fuel pump ecu in the side of the driver side rear seat. It is probably bad you must rewire it theres a thread so search. Airbag light was on in my car after my swap, i just took the bulb out. ect pwr on raises the shift ponit at a lower percentage of throttle. Now with your trans issue, theres a cable next to the throttle cable of your car that is connected to the tranny. i am no mechanic but something tells me that might be your problem.check it out. hope this helps.
PIX or BAN!!
okay first of all thats pretty rude dude!!! the questions i asked about the car, i asked because i am not familiar with Lexus. I have been a long time rotary owner and driver, and a big mitsubishi wrench turner. I am an ASE certified Mechanic with over 11 years in the business. I have owned a Lexus for three days. most of you have owned Lexus for over 5 years.... who u think is gonna know more about the specifics of this car?!?!?! dont be an a$$hole. anyways back to the issues of the car.
1. the radio. the radio is fixed. I pulled the factory amp, head unit, and cd changer out and installed a Kenwood CD with MP3 plug in. thats all i need... and of course since the speakers ran through the amp, i have to direct line all of them. fun!!!!
2. wheels and tires. factory alloys removed. 17" with Pirelli rubber installed, no issues. set of four 16" 10 spoke alloys with near perfect tread for sale!
3. fuel pump. not really an issue anymore. bypassed the Fuel Pump ECU in the side panel and just ran the wire to a wire that was hot when the ignition was on. no issues
4. Air Bag. Air bag light came on because i had key on with cluster out. was replacing all the bulbs in the back of the cluster. now i just gotta go through the wire reset.....
5. Transmission. Still a slight issue. think the kickdown cable might be misadjusted, also the O/D off light will come on sometimes and flash. and it wont drop into overdrive unless i cycle the overdrive off then on... then its a 40% chance it will transfer into OD . think that is a solenoid but havent got the FSM yet to figure it all out.
6. HVAC. yeah ive seen this is a common problem with our cars. im considering sending it up there to lextech or whoever does it and have them rebuild it... either that or just buy the screen and when i install it, do the lights in it as well.
7. Gauge cluster. this thing is definitley screwed. sometimes the tach works sometimes it doesnt. none of the needles light up. considering sending it in....
8. Ball Joints. Dont know if thats the issue or not... i lifted the car and shook the wheel but got no shake from the ball joints or tie rod ends... have a feeling the vibration and rough ride might be due to bad struts.... got a new set in the trunk ready to put on.....

Im not tryin to be an *******. i was just questioning you because it didnt seem like you tried to find the answers to your problems and were asking basic questions an ase certified mechanic wouldnt ask. I even tried to answer some of your questions which shows i offered to help you and your new lexus. Your previous post has made me believe that you are more informed than i had previously thought. so, sorry if i offended you but there are just fake "mechanics" online and they are a dime a dozen. Nice lexus btw for just 300 dollars. that rocks.
we have shocks, not struts.
Take that damn bra off!
no hard feelings dude.

so i got the car up in the air today to check to see if the issue was the shocks... NOPE it looks like the ball joint on the Upper Control arm is shot... all kinds of grease leaking out and it just looks beat.... cant seem to find the ball joint at any parts stores, only way it seems to come is with the entire UCA heard a rumor about a member by the name of Gazi that sells used control arms with the ball joints already pressed in... if that person is around, i wouldlike to contact them.... ccant seem to find any other ways to get this ball joint replaced. so needless to say i have a complete set of front and rear shocks for sale... OEM Prior owner said they had less than 40k on them. make me an offer. still got the rims and factory head unit with amp and changer as well....would be willing to trade for a nice set of door panels some seats and the arm rest for the center.... if anyone has these parts, please let me know as well.
