Hey I was wondering whats the widest tire you guys are running on your dropped SC with TT wheels and no rubbing?
Pics and suspension and tire specs please.

There are a lot of people. I'd assume most are either running the 255 factory size tire, or the 275/40/17. Search and I'm sure you'll find a lot.

I have 285/40 in the rear on a 15mm spacer and I do not rub my rolled fender (~2-4mm more fitment available). I have 245/45 up front on a 20mm spacer, and I do not rub my rolled fender.

Without spacers, 285's will fit in the rear without rubbing an unrolled fender (widest standard street tire to fit within factory specs). In the front, a 255 will rub the suspension without a spacer when cornering, but a 245 will not (255 is the largest standard street tire to fit within factory specs). If you wanted to run a 255 up front, a 10-15mm spacer would do the trick.

If you go with a MT Street Radial, you can fit a 315/35 in the rear on the stock rolled fenders so long as you are not spaced.

There is a multipage thread in the archives that includes dozens of pictures of guys on Supra TT Wheels. My sig has a photo of my car's stance. I am on Swift Supra springs (1.2F/0.8R Supra drop = ~1.7F/1.3R on the SC).

I was thinking about 255's (15mm spacer) up front & 285's (15mm spacer) out back.
BLIZZY: What do you think 255 or 245 up front? Is there a downside to using 255's up front? (ie. too much grip up front)

285's on a 15mm spacer is really flush in the rear. That is what I am running. A 20mm spacer would not work. I think it looks great, and the traction is always there.

I have a 245 on a 20mm spacer and it clears, so a 255 on a 15mm spacer should supply the identical fender clearance. More grip up front will assist is braking and cornering traction. The difference in rotational mass and steering response should be negligible compared to a 245.

My next round of tires will likely include a 255 up front. When I first bought the tires, I was not on spacers, and I was not interested in rubbing the suspension: thus the 245 tires I am on now.

Hello Folks,

I'm trying to decide on the perfect tire size for my SC that will get rid of the FRONT driver's side tire rub when going over even very "small" road dips (very moderate ones, traveling only 30-40 mph!).

I have already worked on the wheel liner, making sure it's not sagging and "tucked up" the wire harness.

My car is lowered with Bilstein/Eibach combo, using Supra TT wheels, currently using 255/40/17 in the fronts. From reading these posts, I realize that this is the problem and I'm ready to change out the fronts to get rid of this problem once and for all.

What are your recommendations/experiences? Would 245/40/17 be the proper size to totally get rid of this annoying issue?

I'm running 275/40/17 in the rear, 255/40/17 in the front and I'm pretty low on BC Coilovers and I don't have any rubbing issues. My fenders are stock.

The key is to have a relatively firm suspension to go low and still not rub the inner plastics, mine will touch on really harsh bumps but it rarely occurs.

However I haven't adjusted the camber since lowering, so fixing that may bring the tire farther toward the fender and cause issues. I'll probably end up rolling the fenders as I may try a spacer to bring the TT wheels more flush and I may try 295's in the rear.

My car's ride height looks about the same as yours (from your pics). I bet my bilstein/eibach combo is softer than your BC Coilovers since our front tire size are the same, hence the more constant rubbing.

I've recently put new Yokos, size 275/40 in the rear with no issues and no fender mods, so I was just hoping for some feedback on tire sizes for the front that will result in NO rubbing at all. I'm debating between 245/40 or 235/45, but I want to be sure first.
