Yes of course it's illegal.... modifying any emission equipment is "illegal". Now if you don't have yearly smog checks, then the chances of you getting caught are slim... But still it's illegal for the record.

Just tell the exhaust people you want an "off road test pipe" installed in place of your cats and resonators. That saves there butts if anything were to happen.

Of course it will help performance as well. Any restriction eliminated behind the turbo will improve power.

We don't have them here in OK either. Sucks for the CA people...

would the release of the backpressure with the less restrictive exhaust help w/trying to squeeze as much power as i can until i can save the money for NA-T? i hope to be the youngest member running NA-T at 16

By deleting the resonators and mufflers, you are adding sound much moreso than power. Any ponies you gain could be counted on one hand.

If you are 16 and saving money for na-t, I would hold off and save up for the na-t. If you are looking for power gains, you will be disappointed with the investment for the resonator and muffler deletion.

well the tahoe replaced a 1995 suburban that we bought all decked out..touch screen nav, 22's, whipple supercharger tv's in the headrests ect. but it was unreliable as hell. so my parents were getting it fixed and they saw this one the 04 Z71 and my mom loved it. they traded in our old burban and bought the tahoe the next day. i drive it 95 percent of the time usually when its snowy icy or rainy because we all know how squirly the SC can be. that and im secretly trying to keep my SC as low miles as possible because they keep showing up w/ 150+ thousand miles and i want mine to be show car quality in 10 years not a beater like the other ones ive seen here in town out of 3 mines the only NICE one

i originally was looking at a 94 SC400 w/ 110k for about 8k, dealer owned and maintained in lincoln but when i came home i saw the 95 SC400 w/ 102k dealer owned and maintained for 11k so we ended up going w/ the 300. i was planning on just going A/V w/ this car but when i saw the video of ACleanSC's NA-T on youtube i just knew i had to do this. i plan on going NA-T w/ a strengthened automatic until i can raise the funds to do 6 speed. then hopefully go with a Crower 3.4 stroker and maybe a slightly larger turbo and Supra LSD

thats some big plans man. good luck in saving up the money. it will cost a pretty penny.

oh and sc's are not "squirly cars". lol. i daily drive mine and it has a welded diff. drive it in the winter and in the rain. its not that bad. i dont even have traction control because its a 5sp. take your sc out for a spin in the snow. so much fun.

oh i know yesterday i accidentally roasted the tires i was spinning w/ traction control on leaving my neighborhood and i dug into the snow, hit pavement shot forward but still spinning hit the hard pavement and smoked them. same thing happened today. every time i've spun was in either snow or rain haha doing some accidental "drifts" round corners..its fun..but i think it would be more fun with a big ol' turbo strapped on. and yeah i'm saving about 85% of all my paychecks

When I was 16, I had a 87 NA Supra then I got a 300zx tt. So does that mean I was NA-T when I was 16?

Just do the muffler delete. I did it because it was cheaper, sounds good, and I'm not wasting money on it NA. Now I'm NA-T with a HKS superdragger.

I wouldnt touch the exhuast until you go na-t. Then when you do go na-t get a 2.5in or 3in dual catback custom fabbed and put some mufflers you want on there. I did what you're wanting to do now when i was na and it was a complete waste of money. I saw $50 be thrown away when the muffler guy trashed my stock exhaust for my custom catback. Just save your money, go na-t, and then touch up the exhaust.

Don't know. I thought it was turning a N/A into a Turbo'd N/A... with the same car.
