they are the last year so i would think they are pretty rare.. but it depends on the color (exterior/interior) too tho. BUT who cares about how rare they are, a lot of people on this forum have sc's so clean, they would make a new cars run back to their factory hiding its all about what you do with your car that counts, not the year

There are a few....In fact I'm doing a deal now on a 97' black on black with
38k miles...5spd, perfecta condition....Don't bother looking for it online. Its a friends who's dumping it in a divorce battle. Its sick, but I'm glad they're splitting...so i can get the car!!!

Its more rare to see a 97 than say, a 95...but its not like, 89 Turbo TA, or SVO, GNX, Syclone, ZR1 rare.

MT was standard on all SC's, the AT was optional until '98, so I'd imagine there were quite a few, although people obviously perferred the AT so I would guess less than 20% sold were MT.

Dealerships were ordering them with autos...When your target market is the upper-middle-class 40 somethings....back in 96' per say, having a bunch of 5spds would never sell....Tis why Lexus dumped the option for 98'.

People that wanted manuals...requested them.

Lexus is dumb for doing it!!! I wish there was an option now to get a 5spd swapped in from the dealer...at a reasonable cost... =)

Yea I knew it was an insanely low number, which is why they're such hot commodities now. I would kill to have a shot at one..
I have a '95 400 if anyones willing to trade and some cash for some V8 power!? haha..

TY very much sbs9. I did try searching but hadn't found an actual count. I've seen the factory brochure but that doesn't give me a # from what I could see.

Mine was originally Diamond Pearl White, 97, MT.

Man a 97 with 38k miles that's a hell of a find. good luck with the purchase.

Thanks for that link! If anybody's curious, you can change the years and find out about your car, for example my '92 5MT is one of 1,601 that year.

Wow, are those 1/4 times accurate? My 98 runs 16's? I haven't taken it to the track yet so I wouldn't know.
