It's a known problem on the SC. I'm not sure why they do it, though (burns out, I guess?). Luckily my cluster's needles haven't done that (yet). I would search for cluster and/or needle to find out more info, etc. I know eBay sometimes has some (replacement) blue cluster needles or you could send the cluster somewhere, locally or otherwise, to have them redone.

For the love of all that is holy, use the search button. This is as good of a question as "how do I do a 1jz swap".

For starters, there is a 1200 post thread stickied to the top of this forum https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-1st-gen-1992-2000/88406-true-ice-blue-red-caps-for-the-clusters.html that includes images of the entire unit, plus damaged needles pictures with explanations of overheating.

Then a search turns up several threads from the early days (03) detailing the overheating issues.
