Default My first SC....totalled

I haven't been active on CL the past few months, what with work etc., but I thought I'd share with other SC pilots what happened with my first Lexus, the '92 SC400. I got rearended really hard while stopping for a traffic jam on the Washington beltway the other night. Luckily, I have no injuries, the passenger cabin was not damaged at all, but the car is a total loss. The f*ken retard who hit me ended up on the left shoulder, and I pulled over to the right.
Below are some pictures. The first one is of my car at the scene, the second one shows the moron and his friends trying in vain to pry his fender off his wheel, the third one shows him being towed, and the last one is in my driveway where the car is now. (The pictures of his POS truck were taken off my outside mirror, and I had to flip them so that they would be correctly oriented.) Amazingly, my car was still drivable, with the edge of the fender just barely touching the tire, but I got her towed home. And she had only 284k miles on her too.

Crumple zones baby! Zero cabin intrusion!

That's what I'm talking about....... Both a sad and happy moment at the same time when you realize your Sc just got it's death certificate, but you also realize this car is designed for complete cabin integrity under an impact so they make sure you walk away.

You just had the entire rear of the car crushed up 3 feet at about 60 MPH and it didn't even destroy the back window. Is it even cracked???

No, O.L.T., no damage to the back and side windows. I'm sure glad my butt was covered by a Lexus at the time, the reason why it's still attached to the rest of me.
Guys, you need to adjust your head rests to the right height. Might save your necks .

One of the state troopers at the scene said he was probably going 50-60 mph. I'm sure they see rearenders like this every day on this road. On this stretch of road, you get everything: road rage warriors, soccer moms sitting in the far left lane doing 50 mph with cell phones glued to their faces, people who use the left or right shoulder to pass, people who may have left Maine or Florida the day before and are tired, hungry, pissed off, etc., by the time they get here, guys on hot bikes racing at well over 100 mph while weaving through traffic. I once saw a guy pulling a wheelie for a least a half mile at high speed.
I'm just glad I wasn't in one of these:
