sc400 tires/rims 19's or 20's

Hi guys,

Just picked up a 1995 sc400 and the first thing that needs to go are the rims. I have an option between 19x8 or 20x7.5. I personally like the styling on the 20's a bit more (TIS 07 http://superbuytires.com/TIS/Style%2...ze=245%2F35R20) but the width seems a bit thin. Do you guys recommend that or the 19's (TSW Chromed Rib http://www.wheelsdirectonline.com/tsw/ribsilver.htm) Also, will I have any issues with rubbing at all? Any thoughts? Decision time is within 2 hours! Oh yea, they are going on a pearl SC. Thanks for your wisdom SC gurus!

not feeling both of those rims.

but sizing wise.. ide go for the wider rims.. in this case the 19" reason being.. car would look wierd if its rolling on skinny 20"s

I recommend you take that $750 your looking to spend on cheap rims and spend on the tune-up I'm sure the car needs.

Then save money in order to buy better quality wheels with proper fitment.

yea mkorsu is right. sc400 are HIGH maintance cars. btw im rolling 9.5" and its almost flush. front sticks out a lil bit.

Thanks guys, maybe I will hold off until put the money somewhere else first. Do you recommend getting the tune up at 76k miles? The records show that it was done at the 60k mark. I dont think I'm due for another 14k or so. Guess it is going to stay stock for awhile longer. So 8.5 widths are recommended?

Wheels over 18" on a '92-'96 body style SC typically make the car look like a submarine on pizza cutters. I say 19" at the most and do a little more wheel research, those aren't cutting it. Good luck!

Definitely give the car a tune-up first, it's the biggest pain when you've spent your heard earned with no homework done first and you realise that the cash should have been spent somewhere else more important.

Thanks for the input all. I'll take it to go get a tune up first. What a helpful group you all are!

if you wanna go all around ;] do 9.5 or bigger all around! MUAHAHAHA

just go staggered.. easier on u :]

but yea maintenance first! u dont want your car to die ;]

I want some BBS wheels for my SC4. The BBS wheel styles are just so classy. I'm thinking about 18s or 19s right now.

20" wheels look good, too, on the SC. I used to think the bigger wheels the better but I've begun to view 20"+ chrome wheels as a little ghetto since so many cars and SUVs have chrome 20s, 22s, 24s, etc. I prefer polished (lips) anyway. I've always liked how most polished wheels look.
