Lexus eh? (Change of Heart!) "I'll take this one Nancy!"
Here Ye! Hear Me! Fellow Lexi fanatics...
Being a tuner/specialist trained BMW fanatic, I'm proud to anounce as of Christmas Eve 2001 I've taken delivery of a '92 Black/Tan SC400 w/ 106001 miles logged! This vehicle was owned by a CPA who serves virtually all of the major auto dealers in my area and maintained this pristine specimen with a meticulously professional enthusiasm. Perhaps he was even a member of Club Lexus?!
About two weeks ago I totalled our beloved '91 535i. I decided to peruse the local "Previously Owned" specialists and to my surprise, simply stumbled across this "consignment" vehicle virtualy hidden amongst year old CLK's and the like. The service records were up to date, with a fresh start to the next service interval... Chrome Wheels,New brakes, brand new Michelin Pilots front and rear bumper covers were freshly painted but matched the original body paint perfectly! (from what I've been reading here at CL, I'm guessing they cleaned the headlights covers too!) A Clean Carfax and serviced by the previous owner's client (FLOW LEXUS) here LOCALLY!
What more could I have asked for? Well, the car's got every known option (as well as the old remote K-40 dealer install... but it's workin!) and all campaigns have been performed. The passenger side speakeasies are on their way out as well as the tach needle but given the all around condition of this SC4... speakers and needles are minor. Well, almost in this case. The interior is EXCELLENT, very little varnish under the valve covers and The Dealer " http://www.heathauto.com " was excellent as always. They let me borrow their lift (AND TOOLS!) for my own inspection.
OKAY! So, I paid alittle more (13400? was asking 15895)for this SC but IMO It's worth it Gang! It was either this SC or the next BMW 850 I could find that was worth the wait.
I've gotta tell ya. Back in '90 I was a german specialty apprentice and we started installing the first major Lexus dealer upgrades (BBS, K-40, Aero etc.) for the local dealer. I wasn't impressed with Lexus then. Time passed has... shall we say?... Given me more than "alittle" insight.
Great Site "CL"! KEEP IT UP!

Upgrades
No buyer's remorse here dudes... Upgrades are definitely in order. Not sure where tos tart but I'm guessing the smart thing to do involes suspension and brakes. Then on to the horsepower! Maybe by the time I get this thing handling right, power improvement will have been optimized for the "grassroots tuner" (Is that magazine still around?) in me. LOL The Mrs. is already nervous!
A pretty functional family? I've learned more, just visiting, "CL" than talking to any "Tuners" (Where are they?) that's for sure! ...and as for the congrats... Thanks but congrats to you for bein well ahead at recognizing a good thing. You're all respected for your enthusiasm of such a remarkable machine.
SO, where do we start?
