Anyone a lawyer?
Ok, then, that is good that you have a sane game plan. It would be helpful for you to find where and how the water is getting into the trunk area and under what circumstances. It may be a tiny thing or a more complicated thing. It may only happen with the car parked as some incline or tilt. Once had a car whos trunk leaked when parked with the nose pointing downhill only. This was a new 240Z. It was the rubber combing.
You may want to line the trunk with dry newspaper and then wet the car down for a while with a hose. The newspaper will show if the leak is via the rubber gasketing and where.
I hope all works out well for you. Best of luck amigo.

I'm going to tear into it this evening to see if I can locate it. As far as technique goes, I'm gonna shut myself in the trunk with a flashlight, and have somebody hose it down HARD, and see if I can find it. Then again it may be totally obvious where its coming from once I get the panels off.
If I was there, I would help ya man. I love that sh*t. I even have one of those bands that goes on your head to hold the mini magna lights on each side of the temple. Too rich!!! Ya gotta love it though.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I had the leaks problem when I bought my white one too. It was on the left hand side though, not the right like yours. Left side is easier to work on than the right.
Check for leaks like Red93 said. My wasn't leak when parked. only while it's moving. The wheel well seam wasn't seal tight.
After trying to reseal the wheel well from the out side without success. I finally seal the inside with silicon. No more leak.
The dealer who sell your car might not even know how to fix it. If he agree to fix your car, you'll be looking at your car at his garage for days!
I don't know what to tell you. Wait for him to fix it or try to fix it yourself. If there is a fine print of sold as is, you're stuck and have to fix it yourself.

BlkRX7, here's some info my brother gave me...
"This guy could possibly have some type of fraud or misrepresentation cause of action. But, the problem will be retaining an attorney to handle the claim. There's really no money(just a little) involved in it for the attorney. He could possible handle it himself easily.
Most high line dealers run Car Fax reports on every potential purchase. So have your friend to ask for a copy of the report. Lastly, if the car skated by Car Fax, the dealer can go after them $5,000 guarantee.
Tell him to try to have the dealer to find him a equal replacement. Or have them to fix the car and refund at least ten percent of the purchase price. Since the car was not in the condition they claimed it was in."
I hope this info helped...

Thanks, Ikon! I am going to hear from the dealership where I bought the car tomorrow. As for the carfax guarantee, I believe that only applies if carfax reports the title as being OK, when in reality its salvaged, or flooded, or whatever....not accidents or failed emissions, or lease registration, etc.
I am going to talk to the owner/management today. I've been dealing with the salesguy thus far....
They refused to take the car back
They have agreed to have it repaired, but those details have yet to be worked out. They want me to bring the car to them so they can look at it, and they say they will take it to Sewell Lexus to have it fixed. I will do no such thing, I don't want them driving or disassembling the car. I expect they'll take it in the back room and do a least cost repair (duct tape and chewing gum) if I let them have their way....but seems like the law says that you have to let them make a good faith effort to repair it before you can haul their *** to court.

By law if you are not comfortable(read "trust") with a business or person. You do NOT have to let them take it to Sewell Lexus. They can make the appointment and let you take your car there. It is still your car...
Good luck..
Good luck..

When I purchased my SC from a dealer, the dealer signed a paper that said I would purchase the car on receipt of a clean car fax report.. I have since noticed that the car had been repainted on the rear, and was thinking the dealer didn't give me the complete car fax report.. Who had the access to carfax???

Looks like I am going to have to get a lawyer and chase after them. I talked to the manager/owner today, and he would only order the parts and fix it at the dealership. Anybody know a good lawyer in Texas?
