^^^ I uderstand your concern, and never really thought about that till now-makes me wonder how many times I turned mined.

A quick search brought up at least one stud thread diameter for safety: http://customwheelsmarket.com/wheelinin.html

OEM lexus is 12x1.5; 12mm diameter

You turned it about 7.7 times * 1.5 thread pitch = 11.55 mm

1/2 a mm to 12, close enough

By far one of the most respectable and cleanest setups I have ever seen on a pre 97 SC. Thank you for sharing!

get the 18x9.5 +15 all around they fit perfectly flush. with a 245/40 rear and 225/40 front or a 235/40 front 255/35 rear. depends how low you end up going and i dont think k-sports go that low.

Have read through many pages on this thread and even the article on post #4444 but still need some advice, as it doesn't cover the size and offsets I am looking at:

Am looking at picking up a set of Enkei GTC01 rims, but am after some advice on offset and fitments. I am after as close a flush fit as I can get without stretching tyres or excessive camber. Rear guards have been rolled flat, and am wanting to leave front stock, no rolling or pulling fenders.

Have been looking at the below specs:

Front: 18*8.5 +30 with 245/18/40 tyres
Rear: 18*10 +22 with 255/18/40 tyres
Other rear option is: 18*9.5 +38 with 255/18/40 tyres

Appreciate if anyone can advise or provide photos.

Hey guys I just got off the phone with the Varrstoen guys trying to get some ES1's, and they recommend 18x9.5 +30 in the front and 18x10.5 + 30 in the rear. They just don't do any higher offset for these wheels. From what I've read in this thread I'm definitely going to have to roll my fenders and pull it out a bit right?

Also I don't want any tire rubbing which my current 20"s do often, and since I have a chipped/rusted fender it digs into the tire every time. I will be fixing this, but now I'm dropping down to 18's I want a bit thicker wheel as I'm not a fan of the bumps. Does anyone have VarrsToen ES 1's on their SC? Pics please, and sizes. I checked the thread and couldn't find any references. I was quoted $530 for a pair shipped.

Who did you speak with at Varrstoen? I can't remember his name but one of the customer service reps has an SC and is running 18" x 10.5 +0 all around. I spoke with him on the phone last week. +30 is super weak. I'd get 18"h x 9.5" +12 up front and 18"x10.5 +22 out back if you don't want a pull.

FYI, I'm running 18"x9.5" +12 up front and 18"x 10.5"w +15 out back with 235/40 & 265/35. I rolled and pulled all four corners just slightly, and each side is flush. The rears poke a bit more than I'd like with minimal rubbing on highway divets. The fronts are perfectly fine, no rubbing around hard turns.

that's strange. I'd suggest another varrstoen vendor. If that was varrstoen themselves, sounds like they're not making anymore aggressive ES1's
