Hey everyone, what's up? This has probably been asked before, since this thread is HUGE, so my apologies if it has.

I really want to get a set of Black Axis Hiro's for my '92 SC400. The size I'm looking at is 19x9.5 +25 all around. Will these sit fairly flush; and, what size tires should I get? I was thinking 225/35-19 up Front and 245/35-19 in the Rear... but I was wondering if I could fit some bigger meats on there? I'm not even sure if those sizes would even be optimal, anyway.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Edit: Forgot to add - I do plan on getting some coilovers, and lowering the car. Not sure how low I plan on going, though..

Would the linea corse lc818 fit nicely on 99sc400 lowered on springs? offsets are19x8.5 +30 front and 19x10 +38 rear. I have about an 1 inch gap between the fender and the tires. would i need to do any fender modifications.

debating between the lc818's or the mb battles 18x9.5+15.

^, You should be okay with these offsets, really going to depend on tire size and drop. I foresee cutting or rolling the rears, same for the fronts.

Rolling is no issue, I have 24/7 access to a roller, tire sizes are no issue either as I have a surplus of 20" tires that I can figure out what works best. No drop yet, possibly on H&R springs for now. Thanks!

EDIT: 245/30/20 & 285/25/20
Here are the sizes I was thinking.

Default Wheels for SC400

Hope this doesn't seem lame, I've read the threads on this but just am trying to make sure of things. I have a '92 SC400, lowered with Tanabe springs and with stock size cross drilled rotors. Stock Tokino shocks. I have no plans to get bigger brakes. Currently I have 17 x 7 1/2 wheels with 225 50 17 fronts and 245 45 17 rears. I would like to go to 18s. Looking at Tirerack they recommend 245 40 18 front and 265 35 18 rear. I would be just fine with those sized tires. I was thinking about 8 or 8 1/2s for the front and 8 1/2 or 9s for the rears. So now the question, if I make sure of the bolt circle (5 114.3) and offsets will everything work. Do I have to worry about center bore, looks like there are 73mm and 60.1 mm available. In other words can I buy wheels by spec rather than having the seller specifically state the wheels work with my car. Thanks to one and all.

That's the same overall diameter I have run for a little while. I only had occasional rubs in the front in turns and rough roads. You should be okay with those. Personally, I'd be scared to roll around with such a small aspect ratio since roads here in OK are terrible. Biggest I'll ever go on this car are 18's.

Yes, as long as you get 5 x 114.3 bolt circle and the desired offsets you'll be fine with the majority of wheels out there. Most of the time manufacturers will produce wheels with large center bores so they will fit a wider range of vehicles. They should be providing you hubcentric rings to compensate for this. If not, you can still purchase them online for $25 - $50 a set, depending on who you buy from.

Try to get the polycarbonate ones if you can, aluminum last longer but have a chance of seizing up to the OEM hub ring.

im thinking about getting TSW zolders for my SC300. the offset is confusing. im guessing i need to go with +40 going from what i read on the first page.

18x9.5 +40 and 18x8 for the front. if i can get the same size for all 4 wheels and get 4 18x9.5 that would save me time. but 9.5 in the front is insane.

^, You'll be fine with 9.5 in the front if needed. I'm running a 10, 44 offset with 285's.
One of the more popular combos is 18 x 8.5, 245/40 in the front and 18 x 9.5, 265/35 or 275/35 in rear with +35 offsets all-around. Not super aggressive but a good place to start with untouched fenders.

Thanks for answering. I am a noob here and I wanna get advice before spend like 800 on wheels before I actually see how they look.

Since I am running stock height for now I should be okay. So I'm gonna go with 18x9.5 for all four wheels. Unless its better to go with 8 inch wide in the front to avoid tire wear on the inside. Hmmm

I searched this and the general forum but, how would Scion xB wheels do?

o 18"X7.5"
o 114.3MM
o 39MM OFFSET

Seems like that offset is "better" than stock (a little more flush) and the width is a little wider than stock. Seems like an upgrade. I really am a novice so be gentle.
