currently running 17x9 -1 for the front and 17x9 -6 in the rear. rims are super advans sa3. just wondering if that is an agressive fitment for a stock bodied sc400.

I would like to know what size tire I should get for my SC with a rim size of 17x7 +42 or +45 can't remember. Right now I have a set of Nexen N3000 235/45 and the tend to balloon out. I need to get new rubber and was looking to get the widest tire for that rim and still have a bit of tire on the side for curb rashing. I don't need to know a tire to get I want to know a size.

You may want to drop down to a 225/50/17 or even a 215/50/17 to help out with the ballooning.

Thanks for your response and I was thinking about that but I don't want a tall side wall as the car is lowered. I was thinking if a 235/40 would be better or a 225/45? I know you can fit at most a 235 on a 7" rim.

I am planning on running some 19x8.5 +15 and 19x10 +20 on my SC. Just wondering what kind of tires would fit best, and do I need more than just a roll or would a pull on my fenders be necessary? If it helps I'm running espelier and tokicos which give about a 2 inch drop all round.

The overall diameter of the 235/45/17 is already a bit smaller than factory. Overall diameter for the 235/40/17 is a little over a inch smaller. The 225/45/17 is about 3/4's of an inch smaller. So the 225/45/17's may be a better choice if you want to stay closer to the overall factory diameter.

depends how much camber you have. but a safe estimate would be if you run a 205/45/18 for the fronts and a 235/45/18 in the rear all you would need is a decent roll.

btw heres a pic of my new wheel setup. im lowered on tein ha's as low as they could go. wheels are super advans SA3 17x9+19 all around but i have a 20mm spacers up front and a 25mm spacer in the rear. so essentially they are 17x9 -1 on a 225/45/17 for the fronts and 17x9 -6 on a 235/45/17 for the rears.

would like not to use any spacers if possible..

This might be an odd question concerning our cars given the commonhouse aftermarket wheel size is usually 18's or 19's, but is there anyone around here on this forum that's done a casual drop (Nothing too dramatic) on a set 16's or 17's? I had a set of 18's on my slammed s13 and it was a miserable experience because of where I work. If anyone's got any pics of a modest drop, maybe with just lowering springs they would be super cool in my book.

It depends if you have or going to get a BBK in the future. Also depends on your ride height and how much camber you want to run. I had 18x9.5 +9 R-disk with 225/40/18 up front. It was +24 before i put 15mm spacers and it rubbed the inner wheel well because my car is low. I had about -3 degrees of camber.

O-disk will need spacers for BBK. You will have to roll your front fenders with either of those sizes. You will need to slightly pull it if you're not planning on running stretched tires.

For the rear you can run the 10.5 +11 with shaved or rolled quarterpanels with a slight pull and some neg camber if you're running stretched tires. I had 265/35 on 10.5 +24. I was running almost -4 camber with shaved quarterpanels. The tire had about a credit card clearance. Then I went with 245/40 and I had plenty of room to work with.

So I would go with 18x9.5 +11 r-disk with at least a 225/40 or 235/40 size tire if I was planning to stretch with my fenders rolled flat. And 18x11 +18 o-disk with at least 255/35 or 265/35. You will definitely need more pulling to get them to fit unless you want to run 245/40.

Thanks Supra Dr. To be honest, I completely forgot about the oem supra tt wheels. No one around here has those and there's maybe 5 or 6 people in my area that are more performance minded sc owners who're sensible with their rims. The other several hundred sc owners usually put 20"+ chrome train wreck rims on their cars.
