Default Hub Centric Ring

350Z Touring 18"They were bought for my IS300. I just wanted to see if the would clear my LS400 Calipers and see the offset. It seem like I would need Hub Centric Rings. I am getting vibrations. The rims were mounted and balanced so I know I need the Hub Centric Rings. Just need information on where to get a set.

I believe that if the lug nuts were torqued in a star pattern you shouldn't need hub centric rings.

RPM 20x8.5 +33 and 20X10 wrapped in Nitto 555 245/30 and 275/30. Also slammed on Megans,

However, since I rub a bit will switch to a Falken FK452s 255/30s when the time comes. I have no desire to stretch or roll my fenders with the paint job.

My daily driver runs 225/40/18 on 18x8 all 4-corners and it's great + the tires don't look small AT ALL.

That is 225/40/18 on 18x8 ... if I ran 245 it would look stupid.
I can generalize because I've been in the tire game for, oh, about 10 years and I just know load ratings off top of my head... I'll go get some empirical data for you if you'd like...

on that car, sure 225/40-18 is a correct size... fact of the matter is that on an SC, a 225/40-18 is .7" shorter than factory... this gives you .35" more wheel well gap, top, front and rear of the wheel well... I know it's not alot, but IMO, it looks like crap on a big car like the SC... the Mazda has smaller wheel wells, so it doesn't look bad, in fact, it looks good there... (last I checked though, this i the SC wheel and tire fitment thread)... it also changes your speedometer if it were mounted on the drive axle, by 3%, changing your final drive ratio and speedometer...

Back to tire load carrying... our cars have a 96 load index from the factory, so, any replacement tire needs to have a 96 in the service description (or higher, obviously)... Browsing through Tire Rack for 225/40-18 shows all of the standard load tires have a 88 load index and the extra load tires have a 92 load index... neither are sufficient for the SC...

the reason I know this stuff off top of my head is that a lot of it is common sense... load carrying capacity is derived from the internal air volume of the tire.. from experience, the 225/40-18 doesn't have enough internal volume, even when used in an XL service description *higher pressure*...

unfortunately that's not true... there is no way to get the lugs seated 100% no matter how you install them, unless there is a hub ring to center them... it does help to do this if you don't have hubcentric rings, however it is not an acceptable substitute IMO

In addition to that the ring's primary purpose is actually to carry the load rather than placing the load on the wheel bolts. You run the risk of shearing off wheel studs and losing a wheel without running the correct rims or hubcentric rings.

Exclamation Need opinions quick

I have finally found a set of Work Euroline SL's that might be a good fit. But I have a slight problem they might be a little too aggressive. Now I think I might have to go the same route as Milt did with his Equips. What do you think?

I plan on ordering a set of D-Max front fenders and the rear I'll probably cut and pull. As far as tires I have no idea but I'm gonna be running PoweredByMax coils. Will the factory camber bolt allow for enough adjustment? I looked and couldn't find anyone running something this tough.

Default Will this work on my 98 SC400 with all 4 fenders rolled

This car is for my father and will retain the stock suspension set up. Will a set of 19 X 9 47mm offset (245/40/19) tires for the front. Rear set up is as follows 19 X 10, 30mm offset, and 275/35/19 tires. I have tried tried searching for the past 1.5 hrs with no luck.. Please let me know what you guys think. Currently the car has the horrible looking stock 16 x 6.5 wheels with their massive 215/55/16 tires. Thanks again for your guys advanced help.

aside from being a little tall, by about 3% or 3/4", they should be fine... the rear is going to be close, especially with the taller tire...

If it was me, I'd do same wheels, but 245/35 front and 275/30 rear

So I have ordered my wheels.. 18x9.5 +20 all 4 corners. I am still on the fence for tire sizes.

I was originally going to run 225/40 all around but I have also been given advice to run a 235/40 front and a 245 or 255/40 rear. I want to have reasonably aggressive fitment. I do not want the tire to sit square on the rim. A fair stretch is okay for me; I just don't want to get into the category of poor performance or risk or popping a bead due to stretch.

i didn't go through this whole thread but was wondering if 18x9.5 +20mm all around will fit the SC3 w/ or w/o rolling the fenders and how far will it pass the fenders? i'm looking to get the Rota Grids later in the future....
