You'll need a fender roll with 20 offset. Look for the 35 offset version of those if you want to get away with out fender rolling.

Just bought some new wheels

ASA JH8's Silver/w machined lip

fronts: 18x8.5 38 offset

rears: 18x9.5 45 offset

Tirerack recommends 245/40/18 in the fronts and 265/35/18 in the rear.

Will this be an ideal setup or is there a different size tire that will do me better, and how should these wheels sit...ie sunken in?

As much as I read about offset, camber, etc, I still have a hard time grasping the whole idea lol

I would go with a 275 on the rear and you could probably get a 15mm spacer in there all around quite easily.

Without a spacer they will be a little sunken.

I have the 18x9 +30 in my post above. A +35 offset would put it 5mm further inwards.

ok i searched through some like 90 pages before i got tired.
seems like not a whole lot of info on 20" rims.
i found these rims i really like, but i am wondering how much of a headache they will be to fit. here are the specs:

20x8.5 +20 offset in silver with 1 inch lip
225/35-20 Nitto 555 high performance tires
20x9.5 +20 offset in silver with 3 inch lip
245/35-20 Nitto 555 high performance tires

my question is will the rear rub. keep in mind the tire is decently stretched and I am at stock ride height. My stock suspension is fresh as well (prev owner replaced). I am thinking it will be close.
**edit** my fenders are currently not rolled **

The guy said I can go out friday and throw them on the car to see.
please any feedback on if i will need to roll or anything like that.
Thanks in advance guys, i really want these rims.

Well, I've gone over this thread a few times and couldn't find the information I wanted so here goes.

Here are the combinations I'm looking to run:

18x8.5 255/40r18
18x9.5 275/35r18
19x8.5 255/35r19
19x9.5 275/30r19

I want the widest tire/wheel I can fit in the well on all fours and still be as flush as possible. I want the same size/offset all around so that I can have ease of rotation. This is going to be on a street car, no show, no track, just a good looking, reliable car (hopefully ). Drop will be barely over 1" (tokico HP spring/shock combo).

I've seen a couple where people were running 18x9.5 +24 and 18x10 +24, but they were running stretched tires to fit. I don't care for that look myself (no offense).

I want the optimum contact patch for the given situation. I'm willing to run small spacers, roll quarters, and roll fenders/run wide front fenders if nessary to fit these wheels.

The questions are, what offset for each of the combinations can I get away with to be as flush as possible? I don't mind the rears being sunken in slightly due to running spacers unless I can compensate relatively easy with the fenders or rolling. Hopefully that makes sense and that I've included enough information.

Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, well, your problem will be front to rear fitment, and trying to keep the same all around...

lets look at your selections

255/40-18 (this tire is taller than OEM diameter) on an 8.5" wheel, in the front, will fit with a +35 to +40 offset, +35 requiring rolled fender. On the rear, +25 to +30 will be flush and require a roll, but +35 will fit sunken a little and no body mod needed

275/35-18 fits great on the rear with a mild roll on +35 offset, but fitting it on the front will require a higher offset and rolled fenders... any higher offset on the rear and it will look sunken as well...

exact same for your 19" diameters...

why not just go staggered?

I run 255/35-18 on the front +40 offset, and it just barely rubs with no rolled fenders (only when turning and suspension compression), and I run 275/30-19 rear on +35 mm offset with rolled fenders...

I run 255/35-18 on the front +40 offset, and it just barely rubs with no rolled fenders (only when turning and suspension compression), and I run 275/30-19 rear on +35 mm offset with rolled fenders...
So for the 255 fitment, I could get the vertex fenders and go with a +25 - +30 offset. For the 275 fitment, fenders, mild roll, +35 offset. Does that sound like a plan?

I don't want to go staggered because I want ease of rotation. I want to be able to rotate front and rear to maximize tire life. That's the only reason. This is a daily driver, and to be able to pickup 4 of the same tires with no hassles is a big plus to me. Besides, it came from the factory that way

One more question, what kind of offset would I need for an 18x10, 285/35r18 or 285/30r19 all the way around? The size is the closest to overall stock height. If I have the fenders, I should be able to accomodate an extra half an inch.

Your help is appreciated. Thank you!
