I purchased a set of classic Blitz wheels to use as my winter wheels. And I found out that:

Blitz 16x8 all around with Blizzak 225/55/16

handles WAAAAAAYYYYY better than my

Ratsel forged GO4 18x10 all around with BFG KDW2 245/40/18 & 255/40/18 (stretched)

I'm shocked that my 18s handled like crap compared to my winter wheels with winter tires.

I guess stretched tires aren't ideal for handling. I'm kinda bummed.

The 40 pro up front is a bit tall. With the taller tire, you will have a higher probability of rubbing up front, and that is a slight problem spot with wiring in range of getting rubbed and fraying over time. Regardless, I am sure you can make it work if the coils are stiff enough. In regard to the fender, a mild roll will be in a order.

Some 275s will fit without rubbing in the rear; most 275s will rub slightly. However, with the 10" rim, you can go wide (and I would). Even a 295 will clear a flushly rolled fender. At a +39 offset, you are going to want to go wider than a 275 unless you run a small 10-15mm spacer.

I am running 20x8.5 Fr w/ 245/35-20 and 20x9.5 Rr w/ 275/30-20 Toyo Proxes. They fit perfect (imo) as far as fender clearence. I had a problem with running it to low and it would rub real bad in the fenderwells, over bumps. Roads are bad in NC, for lower vehicles. I used the TEIN Basics and I definitely don't recommend them for anyone wanting to slam the car. No dampening adjustment (sucks). So I am switching to the Ksports. I will let you know how good they work out soon. Anyway, here's a few pix.

Hope you like.

Default Wheel fitment and colour question

Hi, about to pick up an SC400 which is dark green, factory colour code 6M2.

I am looking at the Work XD9 lightweight monoblock wheel. They are an 18x9 +30 and an 18x10 +38.

Tires will be 235x40 front and 265x35 rear.

From what I have read the front fitment looks like it will be tight and might require rolling. The rear looks like it will be okay.

I am about to fit a set of Tein Comfort Sport coilovers and will looking to run this lowish but it needs to be usable and not stupid low as I have lots of speed bumps and potholes and driveways to work with.

I also have two colour choices for the rims, bronze or gray.

Can anyone comment on rim and tire choice bearing in mind fitment with the coilovers and also any colour preference.

If anyone knows where to get the Tein Coilovers in NZ at a good price I would appreciate a lead.

Cheers
Matt.

You are correct.

You should be able to get away with a 265 on a +38 without rolling the rear. Although, even here, a slight roll may be required. Up front, you will definitely need a roll. +30 too aggressive to a 235 without a roll.

hello in store for new wheels.
i am currently running volk le37t in 350z fitment 19*9.5/10.5 +22 all around
the fenders are rolled and flared.
this might sound kind of crazy but i want to fit 18*10/12 with pretty aggressive offsets. +7 and +12
i know the rear will stick out 29 more mm than what it is now. my question is how much camber can i run before tire wear becomes an issue?

Just got an update from my wheel supplier that the Work XD9's are available in a 18x9 with a 30 or 38 offset for the front.

I was looking at the +30 originally with rears being 18x10 with a 38 offset.

Anyone have any thoughts on the front, is a +30 going to be okay?

Cheers

just curious,
what's the lowest offset /widest rims anyone has ever gotten with a SC (with fender pulling; but not aftermarket widebody)
I noticed most people stay within the +30 to +38 range.

But on nissan 240's which have a stock offset of +40
people buy rims that go all the way down to like -5 offset..

Send a PM to "Hoebag". I believe he is running something in the vicinity of 19x12 +0 on his stock pulled fenders. It definitely is going to look sick...especially once he gets his air set up complete.

Most of the guys pushing the envelope are around +10 to +20. Although, even in this thread, there are a handful of cars running negative offsets with super stretched tires.

Perhaps the 240's stock tires are biased toward the strut unlike the SC's stock tires that are centered in the wheel well. Nissans, in general, seem to be capable of 10-15mm of more negative offset wheel fitment than the average Toyota.

Hey Matt. Im ordering a set in a week or so, I gotta see who has them so I dont need to order from Japan. Im getting the Silver colored in 18x9 +20 and 18x10 +18. I plan on 235/40 and 270/35 for tires. Im shaving the fenders and doing slight camber in the rear for it to fit. Ill post pics as soon as I get them on.
