Here's 275 on 10.5, I thought it looked good.
I think 275 on 10.5 looks nice on my car, but it's not considered much of a stretch at all.

Just looked at your pics, that's about the look I'm going for, real nice. I thought a milder stretch might allow me to run a little more aggresive offset or maybe I don't need to?

I'd like a flush look simular to Detuneds GS above

it's not stretched, it's squared....but if the wheel fitment doesn't require stretching, like above, it can look decent. Unless you are planning on rocking a crazy wheel fitment, you don't need to go with a stretched tire setup. (it might look worse...in the end) What offsets are you thinking with the wheels?

I'm still researching offset, not too versed on wheels/offsets. I'd like to be flush with the fenders and I'm willing to run some neg camber - not too much though.

Looking to fit a 275-295 sized tire.

What would you recommend?

I have 275/30/19 T1S on 19x11.5 Its a nice stretch but not extreme. I will go 265/30/19 next time.

SSR Minevera are really nice. They are no longer available since Tanabe bought SSR.

Cherplex and Roo, you know I highly respect your opinions and knowledge of wheels, offsets and tires but I have to (IMO) correct you guys (and I don't mean to disrespect you guys in anyway) I just feel that we need a chart or explanation of some sort...

Since the VIP fad has hit the US, people are pushing the envelope on how much tires can be streched on wide wheels, Japan has pushed it pretty far, running 225s on 11 inch wheels, which looks nice but crazy (IMO), with that said I think we need to inform the members of what is the reality of what streched means (there is a big gray area)

People that are into wide wheels with low offsets don't really think that a 275 on a 10.5 wheel is not streched at all but the fact of the matter is...it is streched. People mention square; a squared tire is streched. The recommend width on a 275 tire is a 9-10 inch wheel which produces a sidewall buldge.

Obviously, we all have our own variations and opinions on what is streched and what is not. but we should start by taking a basic model wheel with the recommend tire size and go from there.

Though I don't really know what Technics considers streched?? I would think that the best way to inform people is to post pics of wheels with tire like we're doing in this thread. Great job guys!

Back to my point if we take a 10" wheel and put a recommend tire size on it (275) and use that as our base, then 275 on a 10.5" wheel is considered...a mild strech.

The SSR Minervas are from my white SC that I had back in '01, you're gonna have a hard time finding a set of Minervas now days. You'll have better luck finding a set of Strusses or Sovereigns.

Just tryna help out our members! peace - tann

The problem is that all tire manufacturers usually slightly different measuring points and they also use different construction. This means the same size tire but a different brand on the same size wheel, will stretch completely different.

How much of a stretch is very subjective as well. Just do what you like

antk1 I also machined the rotor hats 2mm to bring them in more. I will be machining the backs of the wheels as well to bring them in more. Hopefully over the winter.

wow i didnt even think of doing that. how much would a machine shop charge to do that? and what is a safe amount to shave off of the rotors?

Front:

Volk GTC 18x9 +42
245/40/18

Rear:

Volk GTC 18x10 +44
275/35/19

They're a Face 1/Face 2 combo, but I can't remember which is which right now. The fronts will clear big brakes though.

Suspension is and will stay stock.

Slight rubbing under hard accelleration/big bumps. Barely noticeable though. We'll see how it is in the spring when I hook it with some power.

I'll get some pics up one day...

I don't think that will look so hot. It's going to be pretty aggressive on the front and conservative at the rear. You should go with more aggressive rears to match the front or get some more conservative fronts to match the rear.
