Does anyone know if 18x9.5 +45 all around needs any fender modifications? I think the rear will be just fine, i'm just worried about the front, but it is a pretty high offset. I just wanted to know. My car's currently totalled so no mounting them up anyways. I just got some wheels from a guy who advertised them as BRAND NEW but I came to find that 3 of them were new/good condition, but one has a verryyy slight bend in it and has curb rash that has been fixed and that the back of the lip to inside of the wheel has been resprayed/recoated... It sucks when people aren't honest when selling..

245 and 265 would work fine.

As far as stock fenders the most aggressive I've seen is workaholics
18x10 +24 245/35 Toyo t1r 103
18x11 +28 275/35 Toyo t1r 111.7

Yours would stick out of the stock fenders 12mm front, 8 mm rear. You will need to pull the fenders slightly front and rear or run neg 4-5 deg camber.
Hey thanks for the feedback. I dont actually have the rims. i saw a set and those where the specs and boy did they look sick.. So i was just curios if it was possible. I figured the fenders would need a little modification or the blistered fenders up front. thanks again

My questions are - what size tires would you recommend running? Also, do you think fender modifications will be necessary? I am lowered on Espelir springs with about 1.5" drop. Thanks in advance.
Those sizes are great for stock fendered SC. Rolling for sure. Some stretch needed like 235 and 255 would be good. I think its going to look odd unless you get some coilovers and go lower though as there will be will be some wheel gap.

Its okay to have a little wheel gap - I am not looking to be slammed to the group as NYC are very unforgiving at times. I need to know if I can get away with just a little fender roll, stretched tires and to not have to run any neg. camber as I dont want to go through new tires every 6 mos. Thanks.

Yep you will be fine will rolled fenders and stretch. No extreme neg camber needed.

You will have no trouble at all in the rear, but you may have some problems in the front. With that high of an offset combined with a 9.5 width you will be coming very close to the suspension, but you should be good in relation to the fender. In my opinion you are right at the limit of how far you can push the wheel inwards without contact. One member, SC400on20s I believe, was running a 19x9.5 +43 with a 235/35-19 tire on the front and he said it was very close on the inside. Opposing this view another member, 90redsupra I think, was running 17x9.5 +50 Supra TT rear wheels on the front with 275/40-17 tires and he reported no rubbing on the inside. Take from this what you will or contact these members to see how things went for them. Anyway, worst case scenario you may have to get a small spacer for the front depending on what size tire you run. Let us know how it goes for you.

Last night I picked up a set of standard fitting ROH wheels (Aussie made, I don't know if you guys have heard of them but they make 1pc cast and multi-piece wheels, with their own designs). I was a little iffy to get these but since I got them for a steal I don't really mind and they look decent (imo). Specs on them a kinda boring but these are staying on the car until I can afford the wheels I really want (with the offsets etc. I want).

Here's a little on them...
Wheels: ROH RT
Size: 18x8.5" (or 9", I can't remember) all round.
Offset: Not sure but it looks to be +45mm.
Tyres: Kumho Supra Ecsta 712 (245/40ZR18 all round).

CL Member Name: asdfbunk
Rim Brand and Type: RPM 505 black with machined lip
Rim Size f/r: 18x8 / 18x9
Rim Offset f/r: +38
Tire Size f/r: 245/40/18 275/35/18
Suspension Setup: Stock SC400
Comment On Ride: Ride is a lot harsher compared to the 16" wheels with 50 series tires.
Fender Modifications: Rolled rear fenders
Any other comments: The rears rubbed whenever I went over a big dip, or when I had 1 passenger on the passenger side back seat. I'm pretty sure the front would rub if I was lowered. But I'm very pleased with how flush the wheels look.

i have a quick question. I know most of u are running 245/40 r18 tires on 8.5inch wheels.

my questions are:

1) is it ok to run 245/40 R18 on 7.5inch wide rims?

2) is it ok to run 235/40 R18 on a 8.5 or 9.5inch wide rim?

I'm asking cause i'm in kinda a sticky situation, i have a set of 18 x 7.5 rims that are sitting at home that are my roommates (i'm not too hot about his set) but i want to upgrade ot 18inch rims later, right now i am at a point where i have to get a set of new front tires for my stock 16s. So i was thinking to just buy 18inch tires and mount them onto my roommates set and use them in the meantime before i save up money for a set of 18s that i like, and once that is done i can swap these tires onto them.

I wanna run Sped Star D5R Wheels, 19x9 +38mm all around. I am dropped 1" on Eibach's and I've got a full Vertex kit, including the aero fenders. What size tire should I run? Will I need to worry about fitment issues? I am purchasing them from The Tire Rack and they are for a '98 Supra Turbo. I am planning on doing a BBK in the near future. Will this cause any problems? THANKS!!!

tttp5;

NO WAY, about the 245's on a 7.5" wide rim.
Standard fitment recommendations for a 7.5" wide rim are ~215, IIRC.
My old E36 M3 had 235's on 7.5" wheels, but _everyone_ agrees that is extremely odd and too wide of a tire for that rim width.

You can go to a tire manufacturer's website and find a chart of recommended tire width for each wheel width. I'd use that as my starting place when considering tire fitment on a particular set of wheels.

YMMV

i actually had 245/40/18 on 7" for about a year! they aren't ideal for the rims (i got them for cheap), but they fit fine. in your case, i would go for it since they are temporary until you get your new rims. 235 will also fit fine on 8.5 and little stretch on 9.5.

are you even too lazy to read this thread?

I'm sure rims with those specs have been discussed in this thread. Please read, the thread has been searched for you already.
