Brake Caliper Paint Kits
Hey Guys:
When I was at the recent CT ClubLEXUS drive in last weekend, quite a few of the IS drivers had used a paint kit by a company called G2 to paint their Stock Lexus brake caliper rotors either red or black. Even a few of them then applied a Lexus logo to the caliper in white from a company called www.smoothgraphics.com
The overall look was nice, when combined with large wheels, slotted rotors and the red or black caliper.
Have any of you used one of these kits? If so, what has your experince been in using the kit? Also, there are a few of these kits for sale on ebay and at other internet sites. They tend to run in the $39 range. Any pointers to a good source that may be perhaps cheaper?

Hey man. I used Foliatec caliper paint on my RX-7 and it looks outstanding. I think Foliatec was the first company to come out with the caliper paint and from my experience it is the best. Whatever company you use, make sure the paint it high-temp because nothing looks worse than caliper paint that is fading!!

Exhaust manifold paint is going on my brakes tonight. Hey, do all of these paints have a shiny finish or glossy look to them or are they pretty much flat? How about these caliper paints, glossy or flat looking?

Black SC:
The caliper paints are glossy, 2 part (like an epoxy paint), are heat resistant. Two coats are necessary from the word of mouth I heard. Cleaning the caliper with a solvent (before) the application of the paint is important for good adhesion. I suspect a good break cleaner would work. They tend to leave metal squeeky clean.
