I would never and i mean never put something on my car from that company that has anything to do with the harmonics of my engine unless i was trying to blow it up dont cut short on something that important if you want a crank pulley get and ati i would stay away from UR on that note too although they are a much much much more reputible company than bomz

^word. I would advise against underdrive pulleys unless you want to blow your motor.

Im not sure how underdrive pulleys will blow your engine . There is nothing wrong with underdrive pulleys, its the crank pulley thats in question here. The stock crank pulley has a dampener built in and the ur/bomz do not. The only aftermarket crank pulley i would recommend is the boost logic or the ati because these retain the dampening function like the oem ones.

yup...

and even then, we're talking miniscule amounts of power to be gained... usually on the order of 3-6 hp... maybe...

Get the bombz if u want, your not going to get cranck walk, its a Macined pice of aluminum, that ways 1lb, it will be fine, if they take the time to make it (and its probobly CNC) it will be fine. i have a underdrive pulley its fine, the 2j is internaly balanced anyway. i have 227K on my engine and iv had no problems with my pullley. Our cars stock pulley has a rubber dampener, you can bet that after that dries up and gets old its not going to be as balenced as it should be, my oem pulley walked off the rubber dampener.

it's not a balance issue... it's a harmonics issue...

here's a artice I compiled a good 10 years ago on the subject...

http://www.team3s.com/FAQudp.htm

it's relevant to all cars, although 3000GT based...

there is another great link here:

I understand that and yes it can be dangerous, but I have 227K on my engine and its fine, I have a few thousand miles on the pulley and I have had no problems. Sure if the pulley is unbalanced and gives off the wrong harmonic vibrations it can destroy your engine. Im talking out of experience not out of theory.

You clearly don't understand... the engine itself makes the harmonics... it's the job of the dampener to absorb those...

you have 227k on your motor with a proper dampener, not with a solid pulley...

did you know that you MUST have a harmonic balancer/dampener to legally compete in ANY level of NHRA drag racing (including sport compact stuff)...

this is not damage that occurs overnight... it happens over time...
