Default I got my reprogrammed ECU in today but.......

it was raining!!!!! errrr

This is the first time its rained here in a month and it had to be the day I get my computer back in. Damn. Well I gteched my quarter mile anyways. hehe..(I know its not smart.......but what the hell).. Well I'll put it this way........the only way I figured I could compare it to before was by racing a car that I have raced many times before. So I got my friend who just recently purchased a 2002 255 HP maxima. Man....those things are quick....Well before he got a 14.8 1/4 at the track when I was stock I got a 15.9..........Well we found a deserted(wet) highway to race on tonight. Well I had the gtech and we had the countdown and both floored it. We both spun for a little while and my 0-60 time was like 7.7 and my quarter mile was 15.8......and I was dead even with him........actually I pulled on him at the beginning each time and kept an even lead. It was great.Normally the guy kills me on takeoff. Now this of course isn't exact cause both of our takeoffs suck in the rain. Plus my 0-60 with the gtech is normally right under 7 seconds and his is around 6 flat so you figure it out. Man........this is a long post. Oh plus now my RPM's are going to 6,200 instead of 5,500 like before when shifting. I'll post some dry results later this week..........Adam

Your car used to shift at 5500? that's really weird... what year is your car? Mine always shifted at around 6300-6400. I have the ECT (electronically controlled transmission) button and I leave it on PWR all the time with OD on. Also, I've been pulling 6.8 in 0-60 consistently.
Hmmmmm.... let me know what year and features your car has.

I have a couple of friends that work for congress in Mont. Plus a doctor friend of mine has some 18" wheels he wants to sell my brother for his new' used 98' 740il. If they make the deal we will be there on the 17th.

*Bean, I will be at the Gulf Shores and the outlets in Foley(spelling??) the second weekend(or so) in January. Maybe we can hook up as well?

Mine has always shifted around 5500. That is weird I guess. But it did change. I can't wait till tonight to race and gtech again.....

By the way...I'll have the Weapon R cold air intake very soon. I post results for that as well. I'll gtech before and after since madmax didn't have the "before" dyno results....Later

Yes, I have heard that the new Weapon-R air intake system comes with the same cone fileter that MadMax is using as well as a cold air box. Do you know what else comes with the Weapon-R air system? I think a MAF adapter comes too. I wonder if they are going to provide a snorke? Let us know what you know.

As far as the ECU, what were your expectations ie: before vs after? If you could clearly indicate the before baseline performance that your SC had before the modified ECU then post the after performance with the new ECU, then we can figure out just what the gain is. Right now I am a little confused and unable to tell what the goals are. I have not studied the thread too closely.

Another thought.... I have noticed that my SC performs differently with various options turned on and off. For example air conditioning, TRAC, Overdrive, ECT/POWER. Also variances in outside air temperature can have an effect.

Could you perhaps report to us just what the status is on all of the above settings when you do your runs. It would be of great help. Good luck with this and we shall be watching with anticipation.

The intake is a much larger new upper and lower intake pipe, a MAF adapter for the filter, all fittings, a cold air shield w/lid, the V2 filter (color won't matter much, the filter's covered up) and you can opt for the WR Ram Air Kit to put on the filter. If you want to order one I suggest ordering directly from Leo Now at WR... this kit isn't a retail kit in the sense that other places sell it, etc. It's made to order for now, unless he gets a lot of orders.
