Default Poll: Maintenance and/or Modifications

Now everyone knows that when you actually tear something down that you get to know how it works. How many of you actually like getting your hands dirty and learning why we maintain our cars or why we make uprades and/or modifications. If you just like driving a great car that's good too.

Everything on my own unless I don't have a certain tool.. like a lift or engine crane, etc.

just me... either in my garage, or on a lift at the shop...

aside from pressure washing the underside of the car, no one except myself has done ANYTHING to my car except me since I bought it...

not even so much as mounted a tire

I bust my own knuckles and create my own headaches. Nobody will care more for my car than myself. No half a$$ job from some Stealership!

Annoying stuff like the clutch or the rear main seal I just the professionals do, other than that I'm more than capable to do it on my own.

I do everything I can with what I have. I've done the work on my car myself (with the help of friends when needed) aside from my clutch and exhaust. I don't know how to weld, and a friend of mine has a shop so he did my clutch and exhaust for me together while I was at work one day.

Sometimes I have fun just taking apart stuff on the car to see how it goes back together, I don't think I'll ever feel I know enough about my car.

EDIT: I also tend to try to help friends with their cars as well, especially if they might not know as much about them as a typical enthusiast.

I have a few friends who are mechanics (and 2 that build dragsters/carts) so anything that I don't know how or am unable to do myself they help me out with.
