120k Service from dealer expensive :-(
Just checked with the local Lexus dealer, they charge $1290 for the 120Kservice. I'm not really to excited to pay for all that. So, I'm wondering is anyone else in this forum had a 120k service from an independent shop and cost? Or what would be a decent price range for this service? Had my timing belt already changed and throttle body cleaned @90k service from dealer, which I was not happy to pay to the dealer. Just trying to save a little money. Any input is appreciated. Oh yeah, I have no garage and no tools, so I cannot perform the work myself.
From what I remember it included.
Valve adjustment (is that really necessary?)
Throttle body cleaning ( had it done on 90k service, do I really need it again?)
Spark plug replacement
Inspect wires only
Inspect cap and distributor.
Power steering
Coolant
transmission
Rear diff
Fuel filter
Brakes Fluid
Chassis lubrication
*If I left out anything please post other services*

The 120K mile service should be just about the same as the 60K service.
My 60K service included the new timing belt, new rear engine seal, all new filters, new fan belts, new plugs, oil change, Auto Tranny fluid change, brake fluid change, injector cleaning or flushing, new thermostat, power steering fluid change, rear differential oil change and general visual inspection of everything.
What came out of this inspection was a strong suggestion to change the rear struts asap (which I did) as they were weak and then to change the front struts perhaps within 10K miles or so (which I have yet to do). The bill came to $1200~. At that time I had the Dent Wizard take out $300 of dings in the doors and quarter panels as well.
They also miced the brake disks and inspected the pads and I had 80% left on front and rear and no runout or warpage on the rotors.
I do not know if the throttle body was cleaned at the 60K checkup but suspect it was. My MPG before the checkup was averaging 22 and after it elevated to 25. This is mostly highway crusing.
