18's vs. 19's
i want rims, see . i cant decide between 18's and 19's, i feel that 18s will let me run a bigger tire that will suit my more aggressive driving and i also have a front end rack at my shop that can align at max 18's, so i can align anytime i want for free.but im worried the will look to small... but i feel i might losing out on some much needed tire if i go with a 19's.
did anybody get 19's and wish they had an inch more of tire? or did anybody get 18's and wish they had an inch more of rim? and did they look to small for the car? |
i have 19's and the ride is harsh but it looks so good with 19's i just go slow over road imperfections.

I have 19's along with pretty stiff coilovers and i still love it, but sliva is right, you'll learn to avoid harsh roads without thinking :)

my 400 has 17's all around... handles nice with stiff coil-over ... 245/45r17 and 265/40r17 nice and smooth.. i know it's not one of your options just wanted to give my 2 cents. I have the Fn01rc in black 17x9 17x10 +22 off..

I think 18s. it they will most likely be lighter and easier for your car to spin. plus you can do your aligntment yourself and the tires are cheaper. I thick 18s are just fine in size i have 18s and buddy club coilovers and my car is dropped to the max untill i get bigger fenders and roll the rears. ill admit they look small if your car isnt lowered but once you drop it they look fine

....the 18vs19's debate...
here we go again.:egads: btw...19's. |
IMO, I think 19's look alot better on most styles you go with. With 18's you'll have less options considering looks, some 18's depending on design just looks to small for this car. Also, yes 18 inch tires are cheaper and easier to get, but 19 inch tires aren't that bad if you plan on stretching them. You'll save a little dough. I have it stretched and I drive it fairly aggressive, no issues yet.

I have 18's on 245/40/18's (runflats) and on rough roads it can be a bit harsh. Handles soft and floaty on stock suspension. 18's are more practical, but as far as looks go, 19's all the way.

19's for looks, 18's for daily plus cost less.
I have 19's as main wheels, two sets of 17's TT wheels and a set of 16" BBS lol...sad part is my car is not daily driven. |
I have 19's right now. can't say I love them but I can't say I hate them either. I will probably downgrade to 18's when/if I start to turbo the car.

19s. I have 18's at the moment and can't wait to get 19s (expensive but worth it if it's done right).

My first SC400 had 18's. I just put 19's on my newest SC400 last Sunday.
The offset is not perfect on the 19's that I got. If I had the right offset I might think they are the best thing since sliced bread. I rub so bad on turns and freeway onramps, I HATE it. If you study up and get the right offset, 19's are the best :) If not....go with 18's. I drive hard and hate driving like a grandma now with the 19's :( Just my 2 cents as I have had both on the SC. Good Luck my friend |
19s ftw!!!
|
18s or 19s will be sweet.....as long as you get the correct offsets, I have both and I went with the better offset (which ended up being 18s)
So........offsets FTW! |
