She's almost ready! Front end rebuilt..

I've had my SC400 for about 2 months now, and it sat a month while I was gone for Christmas break. She's weathered with need of a repaint at 153k miles, as well as a few issues to address, but I'm on it.

I have nearly gotten it ready for daily driving. Finally!! :woohoo:

Here's a list of things I've done in the past month and 1/2--

1. Replaced driver window regulator- $65 shipped
2. Replaced pass. front wheel bearing-- $70 total
3. Replaced steering rack with a 60k unit-- $170 shipped
4. Rebuilt Alternator-- brushes/ h.d. rectifier -- $75 shipped
5. Installed DeCorsa Stellar 18x8.5's w/Falk Ziex 245/45/18-- $1060 shipped
6. Installed Daizen LCA bushings and steering rack bushings-- $155 shipped
7. Replaced Front brake pads-- $25 (cheapies for now) (ls400 4 piston soon)
8. Repaired seized front caliper pin-- $10 for new boot-- (was a tough one)
9. Had car aligned today-- $50 for 4 wheel job
10. All 3 Engine mounts-- $175 shipped -- (this weekend if no snow!)
11. Car cost-- $3400

Total Spent: $5300

It's come a long way now, and I'm just amazed at the difference it made doing all of this. It was a heap when I got it. But I couldn't argue for $3400--

Now it drives perfectly straight with zero noise or rattles, minus the clunking swaybar end-link that is loose, but the nuts are siezed in place yet not tightened, very wierd, and a little noisy.

Other needed jobs; driver rear qtr. panel needs pulling/shaping-- it's not bad-
Full wetsanding-- new paint-- ls400 calipers/rotors-- upgrade audio system-- 3 way custom seperates up front in the works-- transplant from present car.
A new climate unit would be cool, but mine works for now.

I'll be doing exhaust cat-back as well-- soon enough.

I also want to remove that pesky tint from the back window-- bubbilng bad.

Just a progress report on reviving a good candidate for restoration. The interior is very good. Leather could use reconditioning, but that's about it.
