Are these wheels really that bad as far as durability? But for color combo......go GOLD....

Usually they dont actually bust they get hair line cracks. Ive also found that cheaper wheels are always way off balance and you have to add a load of weights to one side....

What bothers me are lack of size choices and offset. All the low grade wheels i find are like 18x7 or 18x9 max. WTF, I need more meat than that

Ive been in a car accident, ran over a TV on a busy interstate, hit something huge in the middle of the night on a secluded road which cause my radiator to crack. My old SportMax006 took all this abuse and they were not even bent or out of round. Everytime I changed my tires they would require no more than 1.0oz of weights to balance out. The only thing I didnt like about them was that the lip dents real easy. I dented two of my lips when I was cleaning them with the Maguiars wheel brush.

Get gold and polish the lips,

i've never been one to dismiss a set of rims because they dont say enkei or 5zigen or whatever on the side. I feel more for the design.
get em, use em, abuse em even, then trade up when your pocket allows.
hell if its cheap enough then why not.

Other than a couple of posts saying they knew someone who knew someone on a Nissan board who had probs, there's been little definitive evidence of poor quality.
Another thread with pics just last week had folks giving some ASA(I think?) wheels the thumbs-up and they looked JUST LIKE the SportMax wheels in question.
JDM wheel snobs aren't reconciling your checkbook each month. If you like 'em; rock 'em.

Gold looks good on red IMHO. Hell I'm putting a set of 006s on my SC as well. My fiance is going to be driving my SC every once and a while so I don't want to be replacing a bent/curb rashed wheel every other month. 2 piece forged wheel x 6 = alot of $. Don't get me wrong I love my Volks as well.

I think the Sportmax info/bashing on this site as a whole is a bunch of rubbish heresay.

I curb rashed the hell out of one of mine really hard on the INSIDE edge the other day, and it didn't affect the wheel at all. Didn't throw off the balance or lose air etc..

I'd definitely recommend a set, especially if your on a middle class working mans budget, like me.

I've contemplated that $2500 set of wheels, but I couldn't justify such a purchase. I'd rather throw the extra money I saved into my 401K portfolio.. or towards my house.

It's almost as if a bunch of highschool boys or college dudes with their student loan checks are sitting around talking smack about Sportmax wheels because they themselves just spent $2000 on a bad investment.
