As an true advocate of reupholstering and a hater of interior dying, I must admit that this job looks not bad at all.

Just beware of the fading, especially with the carpet.

Hmm...how much did I use - good question! I would estimate ~32oz of liquid leather dye that was used with a sprayer. Maybe 3 cans of fabric dye (11 or 12oz ea)...then another 2 cans to cover any plastic or vinyle areas. Sorry, I didnt keep detailed records of exactly how much.

Turbocoop - I'm right with you...just take a look at my Supra But other than time/labor, I would guess this job didn't cost me more than $150-170.

Ah, the smell....now? Now, it's just fine But after each "dying session" - it would WREAK for a solid 2-3 days...luckily it's been mild up here all thru the Fall so I was able to let the car air out with all the window down.

Kaotiq - I really wanted to reupholster too...but the cost and availability of "real" black parts is rough. And to be honest...I had leatherseats.com "new" seats in my old SC300 and was NOT impressed with how they were holding up. IMO...go 100% aftermarket or dye OEM lexus leather seats. And I'll keep an eye on the carpet...so far...so good.

I dont want to threadjack, but alot of people interested in a black interior are on this thread.

I have a complete black interior for sale in NY (I do not want to ship, unless buyers pays for shipping)

Local sales are preferred.

$1000 for the complete interior to convert from tan to black. Sell of your tan parts, and the interior should only cost you $200-$300.

Default What model of sprayer did you use to spray dye?

What kind of pneumatic spray gun did you use, any particular model you recommend?
Nice job
Did you consider leatherique dye?

Is your center console trim piece painted or is that a stock one? If so what did you use to paint it? Also I saw a thread here, but cannot find it, of a member who painted his console trim but also successfully painted the ***** without spraying over the lettering. Does anyone know which link that is and how he did it?

I just started my black interior and Im almost done but, I was debating on dying my seats or reupholstering them, did you dye your seats also? My bro-in-law can do my seats but there is nothing wrong with my leather.

awesome job man, i have the nerv and the patience for alot of time consuming projects but i don't know if i have patience and ***** to dye my own interior, it looks great. I don't mind the tan, but when i see a clean black interior like how well yours turned out it reminds me how much better the black does look..
