Default My car was stolen...

Last night, when I was visiting my girlfriend in Brooklyn, NY some D#$ F$%K stole my car. My pride, my joy 1995 Alpine Blue SC400 gone ! ... I reported to cops and called up an insurance already, but now with "extra" stolen car on my record I wouldn't be able to afford an insurance on the new one. I'm screwed big time ! Just wanna to share my pain with you guys. Do you know what should I expect now ? How does insurance handles it ? I had a full converge on it since car was financed. I live in NJ. Thank you all.

What was the agreed value of the car? Did you list all your mods to the insurance agency?

Sorry to hear that

What Toan mean is Blue book price, trade in value...
Make sure the ins. company give you the value of the car not the trade in value.

I hate it when you buy a car the tax is with the maximum value and when you sell it or the Ins. paying for it they used the lowest value (trade in, blue book...).

This tell us that the factory alarm sys. is a POS. I better get an after market alarm in soon.

Unhappy Bummer Gene

Sorry to hear about the theft! I went to the bluebook area:

http://carpoint.msn.com/kbb/default....=Home&pos=Res5

I submitted info that the car had 80,000 miles, top stereo, rear spoiler and came up with trade in value of $14,700 and retail of $22,900. Insurance companies are famous for lowballing yoou with the lowest price. You should run yoiur own info as I just guessed at what your car had.

My wife had a car wrecked while it was parked. They offered me squat, so I told them (tructh at the time) that the car was for sale and I already turned down an offer of let's say, $15,000. They didn't quibble, instead of getting the $12,000 they offered, they immediately settled for what I had already turned down. Did you have yoiur car for sale?

Joe

GeneK25, sorry to hear about that.
where in Brookkyn it happened?
was your car locked/alarmed?
is there any visible scratch or anything on your car so that you can tell it's your car when we see
it.
I know those *******, they not stupid enough to drive your car on street but at least I can keep my eye on when I drive around NYC.

Thank you for your feedback. It was stolen in Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn.

Just in case here is a few details of my car. It’s Alpine Blue (silver/metallic/blue), black interior; passenger side mirror has a little crack on the base. Door side trims (usually black) were in carbon fiber. New Yokohama AVID tires. No tint.

Thank you.
