Need opinions on headlights...

I'm currently working on my HID swap (SC for X5 projectors) and I was bored so started cleaning the lens, glass, etc... then I thought about the blacking out the housing but from previous post that I saw on blacking out the housing, I really didn't like it because it was only half blacked out (the headlight side and not the blinker side) IMO it just didn't look right...so here's what I came up with, not sure if anyone has done this before though. Just need some opinions, I haven't resealed them back yet.

I basically just took the whole chrome piece out.

I painted mine and also painted the turn signal area, I didn't take the chrome piece out but instead painted it because the chrome piece helps finish the inside part so that you don't see the unfinished portions around the projector area like the screws, etc.

I'm almost positive that blacking out the turn signal housing reduces the brightness of the flash of the front turn signals. It's almost like you can't tell that they are blinking from inside the car, but people outside the car can definitely see them still. I think the chrome piece might help reflect the light for the turn signal bulb, just as it does for the parking light next to the lowbeam.

bud your lights will not be as bright at this point and im not talking about projector light but 2 other ones.. there is a reason for the chrome piece is there--- but if you like this then....i guess its cool.

i say paint the chrome

i painted the inside and left the blinkers chrome... IMO, especially with a black car, i'd figure the chrome side markers, grill and chrome linings all around the car would fit it quite nicely.

if you look at the linings on the hood... it comes straight down to the line between the headlight and blinker perfectly also... but if i were to reopen mine again i would want to do the soup can trim lining around the projector glass... i think niiiiiice...

i like the car batmobile

i'd paint the turn signal too, i'm a bit confused on what people are referring to, but painting the area around the turn signal wont really make a noticeable difference at all

DELINING the glass around the turn signal will, thats what refracts all the light to make it look brighter/larger

so if you're gonna paint the area around the projector black, might as well do the whole thing

black housing SC lights look odd to me, i think it's the lines on the plastic. it looks kind of cheap IMHO. If they were delined i think it would look alot better.
