Default 1JZ Noob Question

Okay well i'm not all too familiar with the car and i tried searching 1JZ in the search bar and nothing came up... not too sure why since i see it in thread topics every once in awhile

but anyways

i was just wondering what exactly is the 1JZ engine because i see everyone mentioning it everywhere, and i'm sorry for the newbie question because it seems as though everyone but me knows what it is lol

im guessing its a stock supra twin turbo engine???

and also what is the difference between the engine set and the whole clip? is the 1JZ the best engine swap you can get for a SC400?

thanks for your time

damn noob. you suck at searching

a 1jz is 2.5liter straight six. never came in any usdm cars
you'll find them in soarers, supras, and chasers elswhere

a stock supra twin turbo engine is a 2jz-gte 3liter straight six

and engine set would consist of engine, harness and ecu. transmission may be included as well. a front clip is just the front have of the car chopped off.

the best engine swap you can get for an sc400 would be a b18c5. why would you want a 1jz those things are crap. vtec ownz

try searching on clubna-t.com you'll find a lot more answers there than you ever will on CL.

What is a 1JZGTE? It's 270whp and 24mpg, stock.

(100 more wheel hp then your 4.0 v8).

Dude don't you know the 1JZ's came out of the toyota SUPRCAR? The vtec system is incredible on these motors. but the B18DC4 is a way better canidate for your SC400.

the difference is 0.5 liters. more displacement = more power/torque. price depends on many different factors.

dude, please go to wikipedia and type in toyota engines. The SC400 came with a 1uz-fe. The USDM (US domestic market) Supra TT came with the 2jz-gte. The 1jz-gte was for JDM use only read: supras, soarers, and chasers.

Dont forget it also came in MARK II and Verossa's, just do a 2jz swap its more power and easier to find parts and rebuild kits for.

I think you should do some reasearch on your own car which is an SC400 and the motor that is already in it before you even think about putting a different one in it. Just my two cents
