Default Valve adjustment for SC300?

At 101k it's probably time for a valve adjustment. Over the last few years the idle has deteriorated and I cannot find any fault with the engine management system; my experience scanning the diagnostic code is so far a bust.

Does anyone know the valve lash spec? Hot or cold?

Has anyone known a valve adjustment on these cars to be beneficial?

I am looking for some cause to the nasty idle.

nasty idle huh? im ur same boat.
but my problem is ive had the head adjusted twice!
new larger valves and springs locators even a port and polish and a 5 angle valve job. u know the real kicker its worse now than before. u wanna buy a head? LOL

but 2 ur question, u probably dont need a vavle adjustment the valves are regulated by shims, and they are to be set when cold.

and it is a really big project, like 3 grand at the dealer, and i had it done twice, my dumb ***

u can get a whole new jap spec non turbo supra motor for like 1800 and installed for about another thousand. more power even.
huh, u do the math.
i just got my new motor, jap spec 24k on it nice very clean. i just need to put it in now. ill let u know if theres any difference in power.

Is the Japanese Non-turbo engine more powerful than the one sold in North America?
