Error code 52
My 1994 SC400 was running perfectly when I sold it to a guy who then drove it back to Austin from Houston. About 2 hours into the trip he called b/c the CEL came on and the car was way down on power. He took it to the Lexus dealer and they replaced the knock sensors and some gaskets in the intake tract, but the car still ran poorly. The car also started to shift hard. Then the condition became worse to the point the car would barely idle then it would stall. He took it to another shop that pulled an error code 52. I think there is a wire loose and the new shop thinks there is something wrong with the wiring harness. Any educated help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

harness broken
I have owned about 10 SC400's . 2 or 3 have had bad knock sensor harnesses. From the dealer its about 1200 for the harness. Best way is to get an elec. shop run new wires directly from the knock sensors from the sensors to the ECM. BTW, None of the knock sensors are bad, 52 and 55 are loss of signal codes for each bank of the knock sensors.
One of mine looked like a mouse lived in the intake area and ate through the wire. CrAZy!
