A Statement about Lexus Quality: Inside, Outside, and Under The Hood
Well, today is my Lex's 13th birthday from the factory. This post is just to own up to the quality of vehicle Lexus began producing 17 years ago. With a little routine TLC, this is what 13 year old paint looks like today (sorry for the slight blur, still learning this camera):
This paint on the hood is a bit newer but I still want to show it, painted with OEM Lexus 202:
My interior is finally beginning to show some real signs of wear, just recently the leather on my shifter peeled off, but underneath was a smooth black plastic that still fits the interior well. The seats are just barely showing a tear on the drivers side where your left elbow would be. The rear seats are still pristine, the wood is a bit faded but not bad. My cluster still works flawlessly through the 111k miles I'm creeping up on sometime this week.
My car has been a gem to me over the 3 years I have owned it. She's had minimal problems mechanically, electrically, etc. She has accepted the mods/gifts I've given her with arms wide open I haven't had any real problems at all with this car, routine oil changes have been enough. Aside from the weak battery I was facing due to a current draw with the spoiler LED/subwoofer miswiring, I haven't had anything. Although lately my turn signal fuse keeps blowing out when I turn the headlights on and use the signals a few times. I have disconnected all the wiring from the cornering lights and sidemarkers, so only the turn signals are operating on that circuit, yet the fuse still keeps blowing out? If nobody can help with that here, I'll make a separate post for it after I search it out...
All in all, Happy Birthday to my Lex and...
GO LEXUS!!

Thanks guys, about the wheel well lining, how long does a coat of tire shine last on there to keep it dark? I usually power wash in there and gets the dirt out, but one drive and its all nasty again. I will try the tire shine next time, hard to get in there though, no room! spray it onto a sponge and then use the sponge?
