let's talk seats
Lets talk on 2 levels here...
styling and the overall look of the car and driver comfort First styling, I have never really been commited as to the direction of my SC (VIP, performance/drift, psuedo-luuxury-sport, etc...) I have parts that kind of pulls in all sorts of direction. I've had just as many people come up to me saying how "drift/performance" my car looks/is as I have people asking me how "VIP" it is. I'd personally have to say that my car is more performance oriented than anything else. With that said... what kind of seats (if even) should I get? Reclineable sport seat? (I'd assume this will keep the psuedo-luxury/sport thing going on with my car) Race bucket seats? (I'm assuming this would just push my car over into the hardcore performance only category with my car) Cloth or leather? Supra seats? Leave it stock? And then... which is most comfortable for a 5'5" guy |
whatever you do do not get race bucket seats unless it's a dedicated track car. i'd go for reclineable seats
|
care to elaborate? :)
|
I think champa is talking about non adjustable buckets. Just the fact that the rear seat is impossible to get in and out of with them, its uncomfortable on long drives, and lastly you have to have stilts for seat rails. If anything id have your seats custom foamed and resuited with new leather or suede with bigger bolstering. That is what i plan on doing since i like the electronic features but want a little bit more to hold me in... then again its up to you and what you want from the seats and/or are willing to give up for appearance
|
yea i figured he was talking about the non-reclineables... I dunno.. i've had a car with non-reclineable bucket seats (they were sparcos) and i actually like them. Then again i didn't have to worry about people getting into the back seat.
at the same time... no one ever goes into my back seat... maybe 3 times i can count where my back seats are used. where/who redoes seats with bigger bolstering? I too like the comforts and luxuries of electronic seats |
well i assumed the original poster was talking about non-reclineable race bucket seats since he did list the reclineable ones. anyway, not only are non-reclineable seats uncomfortable, designed to be snug and keep you from siding around, but it's completely impractical for a street car. not being able to get to the back seat, as mentioned, can't recline the seat back, can’t adjust angle of the seat, blah blah blah just plain sucks
|
i've had supra seats before and it was ok. supra seats are good for drivers that are taller....not like 5'6" like me....lol
just my o2. |
s2k seats... if u really need something to hold u in a lil better. but im keeping my stock seats. i luv how they feel, the electric adjustments, and the ass warmers....

Re-upholstered factory seat. Anything less seriously detracts from the original interior design of the SC300, which still looks classy after all of these years.
Personally, I see the SC more as a luxury car with "potential", but a luxury car nonetheless. Many others see it as a drift car, or a luxury supra. |
If you go for new seats, at least you'll save a few pounds. How much do the S2000 seats weigh?

That way you get your luxury and sport feel at the same time. |
