If by "any" you mean a black car, a yellow car and possible another neon bright car like orange then yes.
Platinum metallic is a very "light" color that needs light rims to complement it. By light I don't just mean bright but fluffy or the the opposite of heavy. So any heavy / rich / full / deep colors look very bad. Black is the worst followed by gray.
The name itself is platinum metallic tells you which colors look best. Metal or like metal colors such as silver or polished aluminum.
I had chrome which I recently painted a flat black. I'm not so much a fan of the black and I miss the chrome but I had chrome for 3 years so it was time for a change... But if I had to choose one color again it would be chrome.
