Ugly brakes
Since the addition of my 20s, you can see my brakes and they are definately ugly. Rusted hubs, etc. Just disgusting. I was thinking of painting them, but was not sure what type of results this would give. Are there any aftermarket brakes for the SC400? Any suggestions on cleaning / painting the old ones?

check out my thread under "Suspension and Handling Section". I know of 4 companies that make stock replacements for the rotors. I'm planning on buying new rotors and repainting my calipers. If you check out Brembo.com, they list a big brake upgrade for the SC400.

Chrome brake covers..
Check these chrome brake covers out at:
http://www.speedworld.com/partdetail.cfm part=112&partdetail=781
These seem to be a low-cost solution for my problem.. Anyone have experience with these?

I painted my calipers with a coat of 1000 degree heat-resistant paint, silver. They've looked great for months, and it was easy to do. Check Baer to see if they have a rotor upgrade too.

Suspension
Manaray-
Is your car lowered? I have 20x8.5 all around my car, and the back looks good but the front could use a little lowering.. The front scrapes the plastic fender well during hard turns, but nothing major. Do you think 1" is too much lower? Should I get some adjustables?

mjames08 - Yes, my car is lowered on H&R Coilovers...the rear is adjusted all the way to the bottom (only a 0.75" to 1" gap between the top of the wheel and fender...with 2 people in the back seat, my car tucks)
I think 1" is too little! But then again, I like having the front wheels to only have a 0.5"-0.75" gap...that's really low to many people but with 20's, I think it looks perfect. May or may not work for you depending on your roads and whatnot...plus I have full suspension (sways, STBs, coilovers, etc.) so my car doesn't bottom out on dips as easily since my ride is stiffer...
Do-Luck SC - Well I can't say what it's like JUST with coilovers as I have everything else done to it but even with 20's and full bore suspension mods, I still think it rides pretty good...rides much better than most lowered cars (even with just springs) that I've ridden in...
Adjustment (height) is not hard, just time consuming...you have to usually take off the wheels to adjust them...but once you adjust them to the right height, you're not going to be adjusting them again...I haven't touched mine since I had them installed...
The coilovers for the SC are a little more stiff in general than the GS because the SC in Japan is more a sports car than a luxury car...however, there are some good adjustable (dampening and height) coilover for the SC...

Do you have any pics of your car Manaray? I am thinking of putting the erebuni body kit on my car, but I think it needs to be lowered first.
