The original
In the latest Modified Magazine is a feature on a 1989 Toyota Soarer. The car looks great, a fantastic restoration. The rear wheels are 335-35-17 in size. That let's you know it packing some pretty serious power to require tires that meaty. The engine, a 2JZ pushing 1200 hp. It's a Supra transplant. It's worth it to buy the mag just for this feature. I hope the picture works.
Engine mods on the OG Soarer:
cosworth pistons
HKS
H-type connecting rods, T51-R turbo, exhaust manifold, 280 degree cams, slide cam pulleys)
sard wastegate
titanium exhaust
polished head
fully balanced and treated crankshaft
greddy oil cooler
bosch fuel pump (x4)
NOS (x2)
900 hp, 1200 with NOS
Just goes to show you can do anything with enough cash.

I love old school Soarers. There is one on ebay right now that is in the U.S. for cheap, but obviously you would have to jump through a million hoops to get it road legal. Reggiek, excellent find. I'll be sure to pick up the magazine.

The current issue of Modified Mag has other cool features besides the Soarer. There's a sweet looking 240 with gobs of power and a beautiful bluish purple paint with Advan wheels. It has a nice interior and is set up for street and track use. There's a turbo 350z, too. Just get the mag, I don't want to spill all the beans.

I knew I'd seen this Soarer somewhere before. Check out the image I attached. This Soarer is featured in the Soarer HyperRev book listed under a company called Infini. Sorry for the crappy scan, but check it out anyway:
