Default 2JZ Soarer Problems

Hey guys, ive gota jzz30 toyota soarer. It came standard with a 1jz-gte and im doing a 2jz-gte transplant on it at the moment. Ive ran into a few problems and i was wondering if anyone can help me out. First of all, when i bought the engine it came with out any air measuring sensor eg.air flow meter, map sensor. So i was just wondering what does the standard 2jz-gte acctually use? I no i can use a vpc but would rather not at this stage. Secondaly, on my wiring loom that goes into the the engine ecu there is only one big plug where there is 2 slots on the ecu?

So if anyone can inlighten me it would be appretiated thanks.

The JDM Aristo 2JZ-GTE uses a MAP sensor stock, unlike the USDM Supra TT 2JZ-GTE which uses a MAF.

If it's a JDM swap, and you're using the ECU that came with the engine you very likely need a MAP sensor... if you're sure there isn't one w/ the engine already.

Hey guys, thanks for the replys. There's a sensor thats on the intake manifold that says "turbo pressure sensor" is the same as a MAP senor or is only used when the car is on boost? Also im a bit new to doing my own work on JZ engines and just wondering what is EMS? One more thing does any body have any ideas about why there is one plus missing that goes into the ECU? Any help would be appretiated cheers.

when i said ems i was reffering to aem engine management system wiring on this swap will be a pain in the *** depending on many things it also may not be that bad im still researching and testing many things on it. you should be fine with that map sensor. you will need the full engine wiring harness and ecu this will make things alot easier obvisouly

Im pretty sure its a aritsto engine. Ive been told that the aristo motors use a frount sump set up and the supra's use a rear sump set up. Is this true? or is there any other way of telling the difference between the two?
