Open end differential is what your SC LEXUS has. In laymans terms you only get power to one wheel and not two....LEXUS does not offer a Limited Slip Differentials at stock on their SC's. The dealer only offers traction control which is not the same as an LSD........

A Supra TT LSD differential can bolt right on to any SC perfectly. No modifications needed at all. I found my 1993 Supra Twin Turbo Automatic LSD differential for $500 and installed it myself...Been using for almost a year on my SC and I get power to both rear wheels, and it drives just like stock, no difference....If you live in snow or are into modifiying your SC, I would definetely recommend an Supra TT LSD differential upgrade for the SC's.....OR TRD bolt on LSD...
