Transmission Problem? Need some advice...
Hello, I just purchased a 1992 SC300 and noticed that it shifts abruptly. Its a automatic and the engine only has 98,000 miles on it. The response of the engine is fine and the transmission doesn't slip but whenever it changes gears it jerks and I feel a small thud. Also, the accelerator pedal seems like its vibrating a little when you're stepping on it. At first I thought it might be rubbing from the throttle cable, but it is a constant vibration feel when I"m on the accelerator pedal. I know for certain that the transmission fluid has never been flushed so I'm wondering if that would remedy the situation. At the same time, I know other members have done a transmission flush and they said it did not help. Could my transmission need replacing with such a low mileage vehicle? Or should the transmission flush clear everything out?
Anyone have any suggestions? Or has anyone had the same problem? The vibration I feel on the accelerator almost feels like a slight grind but I just can't accurately describe it. Like friction is going on somewhere. Any information at all would be helpful at this point. Thanks!
