Greetings all...nice site..
Traded my 67 427 vette for 92 SC and cash. I love this car already. But... I want more from it. From what I have culled from the net and this forum, it seems that things I will want to do for sure are:
1. Get rid of restrictive exhaust, and replace with larger diameter free flow twin exhaust.
2. Get a heat shield and K&N filter.

Can someone with too much time on their hands help with the best places to acquire such things, and also other suggestions for making my car even sweeter. I don't really want to convert it to a funny car or anything like that, just want more a bit more when I hit the gas, and would like to keep the great reliability this car apparently has.

Oh yea, In case interested my other cars are 260Z, 99 Trans am, 99 Mitz Spyder convertible, 97 Merc Mountaineer, 91 Mitz mighty max pu. Also got a 99 Excelsior Henderson and 89 CR500 bikes.

Welcome!

I may sell my 16 ga Aluminum heat shield. I bought it for my '95 SC400 (never installed), but I may get a '98 GS400 soon. There is a discussion on the board about the heat shields.

Swift Racing and Weapon R will both be releasing full intake systems and ECU systems. Both should be a good bump in hp. I would highly reccomend a torque converter.

I have flow tested the standard airbox and air filter. The standard filter is a high flow item on the V8. The airbox is an excellent design except for the intake snorkel. The snorkel is twice as restrictive to air flow as a brand new standard filter. So buy a brand new filter - it will keep dirt out and flow plenty of air.
You should remove the intake snorkel or replace with a cold air intake. Replacing the snorkel with a cold air intake will pressurise the sealed airbox with cool fresh air. I have measured this pressure at speed on the open road.
So when you take out the intake snorkel try to figure out how to get air from the bumper intake slots below the headlight into you airbox - you want an airtight arrangement into the box.
