Gotta be 97. The front grille change made a big difference.

well it's all personal pref. I for example dispise the 97+ front end.... the reliability is pretty much the same on them all but 98 is when they threw in an extra gear and gave it 290 hp so.... maybe 98 for speed? but I prefer 95-96 myself.

what TRD said

For me, i love the 97+ as many others do to. I think 97 is the best year, new bodystyle, while stil retaining the more bulletproof and mod-friendly 1uz. If your not into crazy hp in the future, then 00 would be second for me, fastest, and newest!

1995. Had the slight facelight from the earlier years, and still ran the more mod-friendly OBDI. If I'm not mistaken, the '96+ cars run OBDII.

I thought I read somewhere that the '92 was the only one without some oil consumption problem, if you even want to call it a problem.

I wish I didnt have an oil consumption problem. I think the best year is definetly the 97 and up models. The ones with the newer V8 that has that intake manifold coming out of the center.

Ya, I'd say 99/00..basically the pinnacle of the model years IMO..

In second place, I'd say 1996.

Default Best Year

1995 is the last year for the non-interferance motor. If the timing belt lets go on a 90-95, no motor damage. Later models, the valves meet pistons. 1995 is the last of the cool smooth nose.
1995 was the best IMHO...
