Default Intake

I know many of you are like " aww man this newbie is asking another stupid question" but hear me out. I searched for this and couldnt find a viable solution. Heres my question. My friend gave me some piping to put in to replace my stock intake, im gonna use a bbk pipe, and a K&N tapered cone air filter.

The top pic is of what he gave me.

My question is, i have no idea what that thing i circled is. I dont know if its important or not, because i have seen other sc's with redone intakes without that part, but im not sure if i have rewire something or what. Please Help. All help is appreciated.

So all i would need to do is find a tube like this with the little vacuum extension near the end?? And the rest would be fine?

You will need the big one for sure especially for that big V8. The little one you can replace with a breather.

Technically you dont need them for the car to run. Your check engine light will just go on and you need to plug the valves with breathers.
