Default Control Arm Panic - HELP!!!

Hi there,

I need some advice from those of you who have been down this road

Car: 1993 Lexus sc400
Miles: 90500

Issue:

I have this car maintained at the local Toyota specialist shop since I dont ave the time myself. I brought it in with a noise being made everytime the brakes were applied. I had just had front brakes replaced several months ago. They advise me that the busings in the control arms are worn. They quoted about 3000 bucks to replace all four. Is that out of line, or am I being screwed.

What has me floored is that I can not imagine major parts like that going bad after only 90000 miles. The car was babyed by the prevous owner and has been so with me too. No rough driving or speeding. I am a boring speed limit guy.

This shop is known for being reputable. But some past work has been slopp. They usually correct it when i bring it in.

Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks in advance.

That part is extremely notorious for going out on SC's if you want ALOT of information on it, and what people have done to correct it try searching "control arms" in the search thingy.
