Default 97 or 98 sc300

so i decided to get either a pearl white 98 sc300 or a black onyx 97 sc300. i know on teh 98 it has the vvti. as with a lot of people i plan to do some kind of power enhancement in the future. either supra black with turbo kit. or 1jz or 2jzgte swap. my question is with the vvti someone said its harder to tune if i turbo it. both are really good prices. the 98 has 112k miles and asking 10,500 and the 97 has 121k miles and ask 9800.

one more question. if i decide ot go with a vertex, autocouture, version select, or origin body kit. how much is the 97+ bumpers side skirt worth if i decide to sell it on here? i love the oem look but it can never hurt to upgrade to autocouture or vertex. thanks in advance.

if you are boostin, the 97 is the easiest, but I'd rather have the 98. One you get it tweaked it'd be a monster.

well im not planning to boost the stock block anyways. either a TT block or a whole TT swap. so i think im going to get this black 98 sc300 for 11G.

btw does the supra tt auto tranny fits the sc300 2jzge ?

Actually I take that back did some searching myself since I wasnt completely sure its a perfect fit...
"Not a direct bolt on because the NA trans is a kickdown cable, while TT trans is electronically controlled"
found that on supra forums. But I want to say 98 and up autos are electronic controlled.. dont know for sure

found a couple different way i can go. BoostLogic built auto tranny is pretty good even though its the NA tranny. and their stage 2 turbo kit. i guess overall for about 12G easily 450whp with a built GTE block. not a bad deal. i mean a 2jz swap is already gonna run that high with a FMIC and all the essential. i think its 3600 for the shortblock, fully blueprint, 5000 for the turbo kit. and 1800 for the tranny to be built.

the GTE block has the oil squirter which helps when ur boosting a lot. well i dont know what to do yet. just rebuilding the block is a cheaper idea though.
