Default Center armrest removal / Leather Install

Need some help!

First off: Yes, I did an advanced search "Center armrest removal" - and all I got was removing the whole center console - been there, done that, would rather not do it again if I don't have to. All I need to get to is the center armrest cover so I can install the new Leatherseats.com leather! Is it possible to access and remove just the console cover / armrest?

I will post pics of the interior as soon as I'm done. So far finished both front seats and rear seat. Still have door armrests and center console cover to go. Total time invested so far: 17 hours. Didn't do the headrests yet, because they match up pretty well and aren't showing any wear yet. I did the suede inserts on the seating surfaces.

Pros and Cons to Leatherseats.com package:

Pros: Good bang for the buck with the group buy. Good quality leather. Fairly easy to install - tedious, but easy.

Cons: Fit isn't perfect, and requires some 'massaging' to get right in some places, like the upper back of the rear seat. Kinda tight on the fit there, guys. Also the upper rear corners of the front seats, and the lower rear of the front seats. none of these are huge problems, but some tweaking during fabrication might be beneficial. All in all: I recommend it. Looks great. Feels great. Smells great. Definitely DIY stuff.

to remove the center console cover you have to remove like 10 little screws from the underside, then remove the 3 bigger screws that attach it to the swing arm.

I was hoping it was that simple. Thanks for the info. I'll be doing that today and giving it a new leather cover!

tjj13401: Call me about the problems you are having with the kit. I just installed an SC kit last week myself and the install went GREAT with the fitment being dead on. We didnt have to do too much massaging at all. Although since it was/is so cold here the leather doesnt stretch as much so you might need to get a blow dryer out before you start rolling the leather over the seats. That will make it much easier to manipulate into the right area.
